Paxil Warnings
Copied from a post by a dermatologist:
Hi everyone, I've been reading this thread with an increasing amount of dread. Jason I hope you realise what you are doing here, by promoting paxil for blushing, you are giving a SSRI to people whom it was not intented for. I am a Dermatologist, and have been researching KPRF for 4 years. I know what I'm talking about. I'm very glad you have not experienced any side effects, but unfortunately many many people will. I'm surprised the admins of this web page are allowing this?? I really feel this is irresponsible, If you dont believe me, and I know Jason1901 will not, I took the liberty of contacting GlaxoSmithkline, as Doctors we are encouraged to talk to them about their drugs, and I have copied the following reply: "we at GlaxoSmithKline have not intented the use of Paroxetine at any dose for any use other than what is stated vis to treat the symptoms of major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD),[2] social phobia/social anxiety disorder,[3] and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).[4] Further more, it would be dangerous to do so, and any Doctor perscribing Paroxetine for "blushing" would be breaching the stipulated international acts against the unregulated use of medications. It is therefore required of me to remind you that the responsibility of any adverse reaction to the drug Paroxetine will rest entirley on the Doctor who perscribed it..." To make my case clear- Paxil, and other SSRI's WILL reduce blushing- they are designed to treat clinical anxiety- a VERY serious condition, found in people who have had traumatic episodes, with a consequence of damaging their perception of the outside world. Jason, I am not your enemy, and as I said Im so glad you are not reacting badly to Paxil, but my god please dont assume because youre fine everyone else will be. It may be that you, Jason, and others suffer from a mild (please bear in mind I am saying mild RELATIVE to traumatic stress disorders) anxiety and or depression, in which case Paxil may help you. But for the average person I cannot imagine ANY doctor giving out Paxil to someone just for blushing. I am also painfully aware that perscription drugs such as Paxil are freely available on the web, and so threads like this are all the more dangerous. The moral of the story- Speak to your Doctor HONESTLY about why you want Paxil. The side effects of this drug are extreme- I quote: "Evidence has shown that paroxetine has among the highest incidence rates and severity of SSRI discontinuation syndrome of any medication of its class.[22][23] Common paroxetine withdrawal symptoms include repeated electrical shock sensations of the brain and body (see "brain zaps"), vertigo and hot flashes.[24] Suicidal ideation is a frequently reported experience in those withdrawing from SSRIs.[25] " Admins: are you aware how serious a problem suicide idealtion is???? It is a phrenia that lasts years to DECADES! from: Treating SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder) Due to KPRF |

Re: Paxil Warnings
Additional side effects:
Paxil is also associated with withdrawal symptoms that could occur when dosages are dramatically decreased or patients are discontinuing treatment. It is estimated that approximately four to ten percent of Paxil users will experience extreme adverse Paxil withdrawal symptoms, though others may experience more mild Paxil withdrawal symptoms. The onset of Paxil withdrawal symptoms usually occurs between one to three days following the discontinuation of treatment and can last for many months in more severe cases. A period of two to six weeks is the average time patients experience Paxil withdrawal symptoms. For some people, the symptoms of Paxil withdrawal are among the most horrifying experiences imaginable. The following are some of the more mild symptoms:
