thanks to Kebod

Hi everyone and especially Kebod. I know you asked me to post the same things i told you about my treatment but i cant find it so i will write it again.
Inspired by Kebods natural treatment i did my own trial and the results are more than satisfactory. I couldnt make the test for food intolerance because in my country they are difficult and expensive to find but i tried the old way. I quited gluten and dairy for a month and Kp reduced 80 percent y could say. Then i ate only gluten and Kp came back with anger. Quited again and ate only dairy and so on. The results were clear. If i eat gluten and dairy Kp appears and now that i have been gluten/nuts (but almonds) and dairy free for 3 weeks my Kp (wich to remind you all i used to have in my arms complete, legs, butt and sides of the back) is almost gone. I dont know how to explain it but it is like they reduce bit by bit and red dots get fainter and like shrink. It is complitely gone in my forearms and back, and almost gone like 90 percent ir the rest.
I have also writed down every day what i ate, temperature (as it changes with it), sun bathing, lotions (allways olive oil) and it made no difference really. External treatment was allways and the reactions were linked to what i ate. And my skin is SOFT thing that is lovely.
Now that i have to investigate for gluten and dairy free recipies y talked to some celiacs in my country that told me that they used to have Kp but when they started there special diets it went away. (Timings being different for each. 1 to 3 months). There is actually an skin disease called Dermatitis Herpetiforme that is now considered a form of celiac wothought any other simptoms of celiac disease (like weigh loss and vit problems). Im not saying that we are celiacs but for me it is now clear that it is something related to food intolerance.

On friday im going to have Pulsed Light hair removal done on my legs. The machine they are going to use also gets rid of scars. It is a bit expensive but i can afford it right now so im giving it a shot as im (luckily) also very hairy!! Then if it works properly in my legs i will do it in my arms. Will keep you updated.

I can live withought gluten and dairy for the rest of my life. Give it a shot. Even if you cant afford the test you can allways do it the way i have. Just needs a bit of patience.

Thanks for reading me and i hope this helps someone.
Cheers!!

Ayla,

I'm really glad to hear this diet has helped you! This is exciting, because I think that if a lot of our members tried this same diet, many of them would have success, just like you have.

If I was Queen of the Universe (in my dreams!) I would ask all of our members to try Ayla's diet -- no dairy, no gluten -- for one month so we could see how many would be helped by it.

Ayla, I would like to ask you if you can cheat a little -- maybe a small piece of cheese, or a piece of bread -- without having KP return? Or do you need to stay on your diet 100%?

Canuck,

The short answer is....most grains contain gluten. The long answer is....I'll get back to you tomorrow on this when I have time to do some research.

I hope more people try this diet. I know it wont be the same for everyone, maybe only lactose for some, gluten for others and so, but it is a healthy diet any way and does no harm.

NO, i cant cheat at all. I tried to have cake (with cream) in a birthday party and the following day i had like 5 new bumps. Actually i think the trick is not cheating at all!! It is a bit complicated at first reading all the lables and stuff (everything has lactose!!) but you get used to it.

Well, you should stick mainly to corn and rice (brown the better) but there are other cereals like spelt and quinoa that doesnt have gluten. I think your best bet would be to give a look to some celiac websites from you country as they have listings of "permited" foods even by brands and give you recipies and stuff. And fo lactose, appart than in dairy you can find it in things like ham, prepared soups and vieneses. You have to read the lables.
I eat normaly but instead of milk in my cofee (with i also had to eliminate to trial and it made clear) i have soy milk, instead of wheat bred i have either corn or rice bread (or a prepared variant you can buy in health stores) and you have a lot of things allready prepared withough gluten and dairy. Thants why i think it will be easier if you seek for celiac asociations in your country, they will help you a lot!!
Good luck in your diet, dont cheat!! and please report back!

Re: thanks to Kebod

hope this helps - from good old wikipedia:
"Gluten is found in all products containing wheat, rye, and barley and may sometimes contaminate oats grown nearby or processed on the same equipment as gluten-containing cereals. Because a gluten-free diet is a well-established treatment for other disorders, such as celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis, there are many gluten-free breads, pastas, and snacks available commercially. Gluten-free cookbooks have been available for decades. Casein is found in dairy products such as milk or cheese, but is also present in smaller amounts in many substitute dairy products such as vegetarian cheese substitutes, which use casein to provide texture. On a separate note, whey is a different milk protein from casein and can be included in this diet."
maybe not in ayla's diet but finding GFCF info would be a good start.

Well, normal day i have spelt cereal with soy milk, cofee with soy milk mid morning, chicken breats with veggies for lunch, fruit in the afternoon and salad for dinner. For example.
You can have it with spelt, corn or rice bread. It tastes nice!!
But i recomend you look for some celiac web site on your country that will give you much more information and recipie ideas!!
I hope this helps.

Here is an extensive list of which foods contain gluten:

If you google "gluten free", you will find hundreds of web sites.

The problem with gluten is that many of us can't digest it well, even though we eat foods containing gluten every day.

If you google "gluten inflammation" you will find hundreds of sites to read explaining this relationship.

Here is one quote from Gluten and Inflammation | Gluten-free-guide.com

Researchers have determined that grains are among the highest dietary inflammation provocateurs. Wheat, barley, and rye are three at the top.
As The Food Philospher says in her article “Recognizing Gluten Sensitivity: Inflammation”:

The gluten protein molecules found in wheat are simply not digested well by humans. People who are gluten-sensitive develop an immunological reaction to these molecules that then start to inflame and destroy tissues in the body. Normal tissues become damaged, preventing growth and regeneration.

There are indeed other contributors to inflammation in the body, such as smoking, certain medications, and even stress. So if you think you may be at risk, or you’re experiencing any of the symptoms listed in this article, it might be worth checking with your physician to determine the levels of inflammation in your body and test for gluten intolerance.

All of us who have KP owe it to ourselves to try a gluten-free diet for 30 days. By paying very careful attention to any skin changes, you will be able to see if eliminating gluten helps, without taking a gluten intolerance test.
