KP comorbidity?
So two days ago I've finally been able to see a decent dermatologist. However, he was unable to figure out what I had. He even called in another dermatologist to watch it and they simply have no idea. It's obviously follicular but they say it can't only be KP(or it might be something else entirely). The issue is(and I didn't know this was unusual) I have it in certain areas I shouldn't AND there seem to be different kinds of spots. Some brownish, some with halos, some white-heads, etc. And it's a too severe case to be anything they could think of(I have it basically everywhere except hands, feet, face, pelvic area, neck). They did a biopsy(cut off a piece of my skin) and I need to go back in ten days.
Anyone know what other skin disorders could show alongside KP? Or something that looks like KP but is more severe? |

Re: KP comorbidity?
Wraith,
Please let us know what the biopsy results are. In the meantime, here is a site with photos of different skin disorders. Maybe it can help. Pictures of Skin Disorders - LoveToKnow Skincare kebod |

Re: KP comorbidity?
Wraith, welcome to the community!
I was thinking that maybe you have 2 or more conditions at the same time. As a scientist- not dermatologist...I know that when you suffer from an illness, sometimes different kinds of pathogenic organisms can attack your body and develop a severe infection. I'm talking about bacterias and fungi. Some fungi and bacterias have the ability to kill each other if they have the ability to excrete or produce certain substance that kills the other. Like a competition of which one is going to conquer your body. But, if these organisms have developed inmunity or resistance to the toxins ("poison") that they are using to kill one another. They can turn pretty angry and spread to other areas very agressive in order to survive and take control. The main thing here and I absolutely encourage you to do, is to strengthen/ boost your inmune system. There are many inmune boosters available today...You can go to your local health store and ask which one suits you or talk to your dr. Then, after boosting your inmune system and with doctor's diagnosis you can combat the illness better. Can you take a picture of some area, so I can take a look? Maybe you have KP that has been irritated by the presence of pathogenic microorganisms. Please, tell this theory to your derm. ![]() |
