Unhappy Skin spots and keratosis pilaris

Hi.
Since about two years ago I have weird yellowish spots on my legs and arms. I was wondering if this may have any connection with my keratosis pilaris. I don't really know what it is, and my doctor thought that this was a fungus infection. I took skin s****ping test and it was negative. So maybe anyone have similar condition and can tell me what it is and how to get rid of it;] I think I have tried almost everything without success.

Here are the pictures of my leg and arm.

Best regards romanos.

Romanos,

I looked at your photos, and it doesn't look like KP. I don't know what it could be. Can anyone here help Romanos?

A great site for photos and comparisons is dermnetnz.org
Keratosis Pilaris is at:
Keratosis Pilaris. DermNet NZ

your photos kind of reminded me of some derm condiitions I've seen there:
Lichenoid keratosis. DermNet NZ
but your photos aren't so close-up... dermnetnz might be a good place to poke around, use the search function based on the best descriptors of your condition. - bd

Re: Skin spots and keratosis pilaris

Hello.
Thank you for the reply, I have been looking in dermnet site few times, but unfortunately I haven't found anything like mine condition. It looks similar to pityriasis versicolor. But as I wrote, I took skin skin s****ing test and it was negative. I have developed this about two years ago. At the beginning this was a small spot on my left leg. Now i have a lot of them. This spots are very visible when I'm straight out of the bath and I'm drying my skin. They sometimes itch a bit.

Hi romanos! I have the same thing as you - It's just a mild allergic eczema/psoriasis and it usually clears up on it's own - I find that shaving my legs do help with it because the hair trying to come through irritates it - so if your comfortable with doing that just try that - I also reccomend aveeno eczema body wash that you can buy at www.drugstore.com along with an oatmeal based lotion. Good luck!

Hello nykphelp.

Thanks for reply mate. I was wondering if you have been diagnosed by doctor or you just think that it is what you wrote? Do you see any improvements or do you have any idea how to get rid of it. I have to add that it showed up within about 6 months and than it only got a little bit worse. It doesn't disappear, even for a while, and this spots are always in the same places. I've been using emolium body wash and emolium body lotion but I don't see any improvements. I have been today at my dermatologist and she gave me some cream based on hydrocortisone which is a steroid. I'm gonna try it and if i se any results i'll let you know.

Best regards romanos.

I'm pretty positive it's eczema/psoriasis and i do take a multivitmin and that helps too, also exercising helps for me. It should clear up eventually

Re: Skin spots and keratosis pilaris

Hello mates.

If someone would like to know, I have been diagnosed lately with parapsoriasis. So if you'll find your condition similar to mine this may be some path to follow.

Best regards romanos.
