Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

I went to the Dermatologist this AM and they gave me this kit to use for 6-8 weeks. This is my dermatologist own brand they sell at the office. It's called Prestige Dermatology and you can view it at prestigederm.com
They said it would last for 6 months. The cost was $65.

Below are my directions and a picture of my before arms. My arms were getting better on the top with using a loofa glove. My dermatologist actually said to use the loofa with the Clean & Smooth Wash. She said she uses this on her two kids that also have KP (when they let her because she said it can be a little tingly and the kids tolerance is low).

Directions:

The Clean & Smooth Wash contains Liposomal Vitamins A-C-E and Co-Q10 (Glycolic Acid 10%, which moisturizes, exfoliates, cleanses, and smooths the skin).

The Potion Lotion contains Liposomal Vitamins A-C-E and Co-Q10, which contains Glycolic Acid 15% which helps achieve softer, smoother texture and tone. It's an oil free lotion that contains antioxidants including Vitamins A, C, E, and Green Tea Extract in combo with Co-Q10 to assist in minimizing free-radical-inducing skin damage while aiding in the restoration of healthy looking skin.

Rough Away Spray contains Urea U.S.P. 40%, which purpose is keratolytic. It says "Uses- Urea 40% spray softens and dissolves dry, thickened skin and helps restore lost moisture beneath the skin surface."

Left forearm:

Back of left arm

front left arm

right forearm (this arm is not as bad on this side)

right backside of forearm

backside right arm

frontside of right arm

I am in no way promoting this product only providing the info and pictures showing my progress, no progress, minimum progress, etc with the use of this.

I have delayed going to a dermatologist for 4 years now because I've been to so many and all they did was prescribe some kind of lotion that never worked. So, instead of wasting my money I decided to try to fix it myself...well, it's gotten worse and I have scars that I am embarrassed to show. In the past 6 months I have made 4 appointments with this office and cancelled, mainly because I would call make the appt and it would be 2 weeks later then I thought my arms looked better. My KP goes in cycles of manageable to nasty. These pics are actually not that bad, but I am showing you guys the starting point I am at with the first treatment of the Bye Bye Bumps Kit.

I live in FL and cannot wear long sleeves to hide it. The sun does help but, I also have very sensitive skin...so, even if it isn't bad my skin gets red and blotchy and then makes the KP look worse. I was tired of lying that I had a sunburn when people, students (I'm a teacher), parents, etc ask me what is wrong with my arms. I would get so freaked out if someone tried touching my arms because of it and if I had Amlactin or some other type of greasy lotion on if they would touch my arm would feel it and hated that too.

I hope this works. They actually called it the KP kit. This was the first time and the first dermatologist I went to that was familiar with KP. I am hopeful.

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

Ok here's my report from the first use, which is the Night use:

Clean & Smooth Wash- only needed one pump for both arms together. I wet my hand and it was very creamy with a little bit of bubbles. Doesn't smell bad and washed off easily with a washcloth.

Rough Away Spray- 4 squirts per arm was good for me (1 front top, 1 front bottom, 1 front back top, and 1 front back bottom), then I rubbed the spray all around for even distribution. Little bit of a smell, but nothing that significant.

Overall opinion so far- Not greasy at all. I like the creamy wash and the Urea Spray makes your skin kinda tight and dry like.

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

I definitely have KP. As I said mine goes through cycles. I was diagnosed with KP at 5 and was told from about 8 dermatologist from NY, PA, and FL that it was KP with no cure.

It has gotten a lot warmer down in FL over the past month so I've been able to expose my arms to the sun more and that has helped a lot. I also for the past 10 days have been using a loofa glove, which I said in the 1st post. That has sluffed off a lot of the bumps that were there and over the past week has improved greatly.

My father and brother also have KP. My brother on his cheeks and arms. My dad has it on his arms and thighs. I have it on my arms, thighs, chest, and buttocks.

When I lived in NY and wore a lot of long sleeved shirts and never used lotion (at that time thought it made it worse), my KP was terrible. My arms were always red, bumps everywhere, and so embarrassing.

Now that I am down in FL the KP has greatly improved, but only in the summer time. The winter time is still my worst season for KP. The sun definitely helps. Plus the warmer weather allows you to wear shorter sleeves.

Thank you for your opinion, but it is KP. Right now it's a lot clearer it usually is.

I was actually going to cancel this appt again, like I said I had done in the past. But, I wanted to see if she had another idea to get rid of it so I wasn't embarrassed as much this summer.

I will post later about this AM application and tonights.

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

I have very sensitive skin. It looks terrible when I am hot, upset, excited, sad, anything other than content. Then it gets all red, blotchy, etc and it brings out the scars, bumps, and redness 500% more visible. Being that I am at school running around like a chicken with her head cut off...and as I said I am from FL which our hallways are two building with a covered area connecting the two (so it's outside in the heat). So therefore, I am always hot etc when I am racing to do the things I need to do...so, my arms look bad around my supervisors, fellow teachers, parents, and students that I want respect from. I hate that they stare at my arms and ask "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR ARMS?" Or they give you the famous stare at your arms where they are saying in their mind "EWW SHE HAS SCABS, PIMPLES, AND A GROSS RASH ALL OVER HER ARMS. WHY?" I feel like I am being judged because of the KP. I am an attractive young married woman that wants to feel confident without the constant burden and stereotypes of KP. That's all I ask.

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

The first morning application:

I noticed that in the shower the wash was not as bubbly, more like benzoyl peroxide. I applied the wash and rubbed it all around, then I wet the glove loofah and used that to exfoliate with the wash- advised by Dr. Monticciolo. I then put the lotion on which was nice and creamy. It did sting a little when I first put it on, but I think it's because I still have scabs and the loofah did take the tops off and so the Glycolic Acid might have made those areas sting. It did feel kind of sticky for a bit. However come mid day it was better.

Last nights application was a bit different: the 1st night I put it on my arms only. Last night I used it on my arms, stomach, face, and thighs. I put the Urea spray only on my arms, stomach, thighs, cheeks and forehead...not around my nose or lips as it advises no membrane areas.

I notice today after three applications that the scabs are sloughing off and there are some dry skin areas that are also flaking off- not a lot but about 5 areas on my lower arms.

So far so good, no side affects or anything I can't handle.

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

So how is it going??? I think in the pictures it's hard to see the KP b/c of the lighting or the focus...but i could see where you were picking (tsk tsk tsk) lol j/k i'm guilty too!! I'm very excited to see how this works for you! I used to live in FL...now i'm up in MY and know EXACTLY what your talking about weather wise. I actually was born in NY ( outside NYC) I used to have bad eczema as well as KP....moved to FL and no more eczema...better KP. Now i'm in Buffalo (been here almost 12 years) and Kp got bad again. I'm thinking of you and sending best wished your way with this!

I went to Canisius for my undergrad- graduated in 2002! I miss Buffalo, well maybe it was college I miss. HEHE!

Anyways, my arms feel a lot smoother. However, I have about 5 spots that have some BIG bumps that I want to pinch SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. Everytime I get the urge, I try to keep busy or put on a sweatshirt. It seems to work. I thought the loofah would take the top off this AM in the shower but it didn't. ARGHH!!! It's so tough not picking at them!

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

HAHAH! My brother went to Niagara! I grew up in western NY, so I was used to it when I went to Canisius. Now living down here for 5 years, I definitely don't miss it...only to see family. But, they all come to visit us!

Re: Bye Bye Bumps Kit!

Ok, sorry for not posting in a while. The Bye Bye Bumps kit didn't work. For about 2 weeks it made it worse. My bumps were actually a lot bigger than normal. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I can explain what they looked like. The areas I have the most problem is the back of my upper arms, the sides of my upper lower arms, the inside of your arm where it rests on chairs, and the outside of my wrist area. So, after using it for 2 1/2 weeks- wash and lotion in the AM and wash and spray in the PM with loofah both times, I didn't see a difference just worse. I know sometimes it is supposed to get worse before it gets better that's why I gave it another week and a half.

Ok, so after doing this I realized that it was the loofah that was getting rid of the bumps not the wash, lotion, or spray. My hubby always has said just use SOAP. Well, we just got some soap for the shower when we went shopping the other day- Irish Spring and I thought "why not?" Ok so, even after just 1 day I noticed a complete difference. Now, it's the third day but I haven't taken a shower yet so techinically 2x using the Irish Spring with a back scrub brush. Also, at night I have been using the Stridex Black Head pads on my arms too. In the shower I use the Irish Spring on a body puff for my entire body then at the end I put more Irish Spring (bar) on the back scrub brush and do my arms, back, chest, thighs, and behind...all the places I normally have any sort of KP, blemish, etc. You would be amazed at the result and it's a hell of a lot cheaper! Here are the before pics from 6/5:

(In order- right arm wrist area, left forearm, upper right arm, and back of left arm)

AND NOW AFTER....: cheer2:

(In order- right arm wrist area, left arm wrist area, back of right arm, and back of left arm)

Don't get me wrong my arms are very dry now because of the salicylic acid in the pads and the Irish Spring soap....so, last night I made a spray:
2/3 water to 1/3 vitamin E and Aloe Lotion.

I put that on last night and it helped...until my little weiner dog tried licking it off
