Hello im a student with a course of pharmacy in Philippines im graduating this school year and must complete my theisis. I would like my theisis to have something to do with keratosis pilaris treatment. I would like to formulate a drug or remdy from a herbal plant or any. My I ask if anyone knows a very good herbal remedy for keratosis pilaris if so may you let me know it. Maybe we can study or formulate that plant and later make it as a good medications or drug product for us keratosis pilaris sufferers. Or can anyone insight about natural remedy for keratosis pilaris. Thank you for you concerned and support!

Some of the members of this forum have reported diminishing of their KP using Sea Buckthorn shampoo, soap and capsules.

Others have had success with evening primrose oil.

And others with coconut oil and other oils, used for oil pulling.

is no herbal remedy. isnt nothing. u need to find out what causes speedy excess keratin buildup. and what can stop excess keratin buildup. why it clogges are hair follicles and clogs are pores causes a hard white cap and inflamed red bumps. if u can find something that stops that then ull be rich rich rich lol

why does it have to be natural lol believe me we dont care if its natural from a plant or something un natural long as it gets the job done.

But Is it a fact that excess keratin is the reason for KP? are there studies to prove that excess keratin is the reason? because our thesis must be of scientific basis for us to formulate and study a new remedy and maybe we can furthermore help if we have had developed one.

can u do some reserch on things that slow down keratin . that protein of the skin is what is giving us the problem. yes we all need some keratin as its a natural function of the skin but us sufferes have something in us that is causeing excess build up of keratin and are skin is not letting it out like it should.

It has to be natural for us to prove in our thesis that it is hypoallergenic and there are many chemicals have been said but nothing happens to the sufferers so we came up to an idea of formulating from a natural things like herbal plants but if you have known something better other than herbal we are very pleased to know it.

How can you prove that excess keratin is the reason have you asked a doctor or a dermatologists?

yes hun everyone on here knows that excess keratin causes kp. every doctor and dermatologist knows that. that is the problem and the diagnosis that is the reason for the bumps . people who have kp produce way more keratin the protein of the skin then the normal person. we produce it at such a high alarming rate that our skin can not shed it like normal skin. its something internal that is causing that . the problem is no one knows what is causing it. if we can find out what is causing it we can cure this thing. thats why are pores get clogged cause of this excess keratin and its trapped in our hair follicles which prevents the hair from coming out the pores like it should and that where we get a bump. everywhere we have a bump there is a trapped hair down deep inside that bump. thats why all us kp sufferers dont have as much body hair as we should cause its trapped inside the pores cause of the excess keratin build up.

So what we need to look is something that can neutralize the protein in our body?

yes exactly.

problem is they dont do no research. no money is put into research for kp. and i really dont understand why since they say 40 to 50% of the population has this just some worse then others. yes and i know its not life threatening but it causes depression and life alternating. people have to wear winter clothes in the summertime and people hate their skin and how it feels and looks it makes them depressed really bad and makes alot of their social life and intimacy and self consciousness really bad. it makes them feel ugly and different. its really a horrible things to have. if they can cure atletes foot which is not life threatening this is way worse and they do nothing. guess they just wanna make money on all there worthless creams that do nothing but make some kp sufferers skin a lil softer. but they still have the bumps and red inflammed bumps. i got rid of my bumps by using aluminum oxide crystals and glycolic acid meaning the signs of it but its not a cure. and i hate the fact that i have to apply high acid on my body every two days from keeping it from coming back. if u can find out what is causing this rapid keratin build up and stop it. believe me u will be a hero and a worshipped god too so many not even mentioning rich .

but im willing to work with you and help fight this thing. im all in. and i been researching for a year now and havent come up with the internal solution yet.

May I ask: whoa are you a doctor? how come you know a lot of this stuff? i'll try to talk with my professor and look if they have something to tell about it. I just want to know a lot for this since im a sufferer and at the same time soon to be pharmacist. and since ill be a pharmacist i want to medicine for the sake of my profession and for the sake of the sufferers. so please anyone please cite some insights about stuffs, chemical, or herbals that can affect and cure keratosis pilaris.
