Re: New Drug Remedy Development
nah not a doctor thats an insult lol j/k nah just a person who has kp and wants to rid this stuff from all people. so i look into everything and try everything u could say i was my own guinea pig lol i only got external treatments that work to get rid of the appearance of kp and believe me none of them are natural lol i want an internal solution but that is yet to be proven or discovered. we need to cure this disease not help it. first of all the doctors are wrong about two things . kp does not affect 40 to 50% of the population i think we can all agree that is hogwash. if u wanna say one out of every two people got this stuff ill challenge that and beat them easily. the second myth by the doctors is that kp gets better with age that is also bologne. it actually gets worse with age and spreads to all parts of the body mostly. and the older u get and untreating this stuff in some way makes it harder to get rid of cause it just keeps building up and cell turnover slows the older u get. another myth is its a lack of vitamin a. believe me u can take vitamin a once a day and this stuff gets no better. if it was just a lack of vitamin A we would all be cured. and u cant take more then one vitamin A supplement a day cause vitamin A is a toxin and more then that will cause liver damage. so believe me hun doctors are no help when it comes to this skin disorder. people on this forum know more about kp then they ever will unless they get serious and care enough to do something about this which they dont.

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
This site (The British Skin Foundation) and this site (Keratosis Pilaris) have some good basic information if you want to find out more about the disease.
One interesting thing about the disease is the hereditary link so this is important to remember in any scientific study. Possible herbal remedies are things such as essential fatty acids (from linseeds/flaxseeds or possbly absorbed through oil pulling), sea buckthorn applied topically to kill dermodex mites, various vitamins (A, C, E) and excluding certain foods from the diet (eg dairy, wheat, gluten) Because nobody has done any scientific studies it is not possible to say yet what causes it. KP is an excess of keratin clogging the pores but nobody knows why it happens. I can say that I've had good success with sea buckthorn soap + capsules, however, I cannot say whether this is because of the sea buckthorn that it contains or the essential fatty acids which are in the capsules (or something else entirely). If you wanted to prove/disprove the sea buckthorn treatment I suppose you could start by gathering a group of volunteers with and without KP and see if the group with KP has significantly more demodex mites than the other. And then if this the group with KP did have it, treat them with sea buckthorn products to see if their skin changed. There is information about dermodex mites here (The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide) and here (34 years later... cured - it was demodex parasite!!) a study has already shown a link between demodex and rosacea (Rosacea.org: The National Rosacea Society) which is another skin disease. Personally, I'd take a lot of what GermanBoner says with a pinch of salt. He has a tendency to talk in absolute certainties about things which he can't prove and hasn't researched. Very little is known about KP so it is not possible to state much for certain. Good luck with your project. It's nice to see someone doing some research on this ![]() |

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
Hi cuteako - Here's another link with info that I think Anne (see kprf forums) originally brought to my attention and where you may find some more info:
Keratosis Pilaris "According to the American Academy of Dermatology, up to 40 percent of the population has keratosis pilaris.... The cause of keratosis pilaris is unknown, but it seems to be hereditary. It is also more common in overweight individuals and patients with atopic dermatitis, the type of eczema (chronic, itchy inflammation of the upper layers of the skin) caused by allergies. In individuals with certain underlying conditions, such as eczema, keratosis pilaris often improves when the underlying disorder is addressed." I grabbed that quote for you cause some of the "natural" remedies for eczema - sulphur soaps, moisturizers, avoiding soaps, UVA & UVB treatment (tanning) and avoiding food allergies and increasing Omega-3 consumption - are helpful or are even full on cures for some people around here. - bd |

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
Germanboner to some extent are right. why does the doctor of our society is not doing anything about keratosis pilaris? since 40% of the society was affected to it.
dermodex mites is a microorganism right? but keratosis pilaris is an inborn abnormalities i think that those mites have nothing to do with keratosis pilaris because if it has our doctors during our moms labor us would tell to them that their child is affected with a microorganism. how does dairy, gluten, wheat affect keratosis pilaris? isn't it that dairy product contains vitamin a which can smoothen skin? |

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
ur exactly right cute. thats just some weirdo saying were infested with mites lol oh i could prove that 40% of the population doesnt have this. i can take groups of 50 people from 20 different locations around the world and i guarantee you no 4 out of 10 people have this. that be a easy thing to prove and u dont need to be no scientist lol yea some people on here which anne seems to be one of them thinks all kp is different and that each of us have something different that will cure us lol her and her seabuckthorn holy soap lol will get rid of all are mites lol i done way more research then she ever has i bet and unlike her im just a everyday citizen unlike her who seems to have a scientific lab in her basement lol the things i gave you are the facts. oh and she wants to praise and believe the american academy of dermatology ok u go to ur dermatologist like we all have done when we were kids and when we found out we had this and here is what ull get. awwwwwwwww its not deadly it goes away with age dont worry about it here ill give u a perscription of this worthless cream u can put on ur arms it wont make it go away but it will make ur bumps a lil softer have a great day lol lol well screw the worthless cream it dont take no rocket scientist to figure out if u put some lotion and lube on ur skin it will make it a bit softer duhhhhhhhhhhhhh common sense oh wait i just got my bill wow its 170 bucks from my dermatologist damn can i ask a question what did i get for 170 bucks lol a pat on the back, a lie and some worthless cream, man i swear im set 4 life (rolls eyes). bottom line cute ull get weird ones on this forum with crazy miracle cures and get rid of ur kp in a few days stuff but i definitely will help you and give u any info u need from a normal realistic person who is serious and not some whack jobs u get on here sometimes lol

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
yes that be a great idea. i found this post on this creme called eucerin plus intensive repair body creme . i went and bought this stuff today. its cheep only 8 bucks in usa. it has 10% urea in it. i used it tonight and i notice black things coming out my skin. i dont know if these are keratin plugs but they are something. actually its a thread on here called my kp miracle. if this creme is working this creme might take the place of dermabrasion. what im gonna do is stop my glycolic acid treatment and just use this creme for 2 weeks and if this stuff is indeed removing the plugs and keratin gunk out my pores then this might be a big break through. only my first day on it so im not gonna get to excited or carried away but i will report my results and findings. i posted a thread a few days ago about the high percentage of urea maybe being the replacement for dermabrasion or making dermabrasion easier before i even foung this thread and this creme therapy. but this creme mite prove it to be right god i sure hope so. i read all the post on this thread and it has worked for many and all have reported black plugs or gunk coming off or out their skin. of course u can get products with higher urea anywhere from 20% to 40% that might work even better .if u want i can give u all the ingrediants off this creme if u like after i see it really works but its definitely doing something after one application.

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
here is the post.
My KP miracle! ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page) . its called eucerin dry skin therapy plus intensive repair body cream. clinically proven effective for very dry, rough skin. manufacturer is beiersdorf inc wilton ct. 06897. eucerin phone number is 1 800 227 4703. website is www.eucerinus.com. also says on the back of it clinically proven to relieve skin bumps often found on upper arms and legs. the ingredients are water, urea, mineral oil, sodium lactate, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, microcrystalline wax, glycerin, octyldodecanol, polyglyceryl-2, isopropyl stearate, dimethicone, bisabolol, lactic acid, lanolin alcohol, benzyl alcohol . also says alpha hydroxy and extra enriched moisturizers repair and soften. non-irritating frangrance free. only thing that i wonder about is the mineral oil in it. i seen so many times on so many different sites that mineral oil is not good cause it clogs pores. is that true ? wonder what this stuff be like without the mineral oil . its different then any cream i ever tried cause its kinda thick. u gotta kind of rub it in with a little pressure onto ur skin. but when u click that link to that thread she says let it sit on ur skin an hour then rub ur bumps. yea definitely check out that post cute its very interesting. im gonna use it for a week and see how it works but definitely something is coming out my skin after just one use. |

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
another thing that is weird is the plugs if that is what it is are black. i always thought it was white inside our bumps. has anyone actually pull a hard plug out of one of their bumps if so was it white or black?

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
my findings is the black stuff is lint and fibers from the towel u pat dry urself with. i did not pat dry after my bath today and got nothing. i think its fiber and lint from the towel cause this stuff is so sticky. my first finding was right it was just too good to be true.

Re: New Drug Remedy Development
What I think is the black stuff is a combination of dead skin and dirt (possibly from your fingers).
