Losing hope

Hey all,
I am really losing hope in my fight against kp. It feels like I have tried every product with no improvement. I guess I am just looking for some advice. I have tried the following already...
KP Duty
Seabuckthorn soap
Oil pulling
Lush's Dream Cream
Neutrogena Body Clear Wash (sal acid)
Bio-Oil
Pearson's Promise
Many other lotions that I cannot remember

When I use lotions or creams, my kp gets worse and I think my pores are being clogged. When I exfoliate in the shower, my kp becomes inflamed and much worse. I find that it looks the best when I leave it alone. Anyone else have this problem too? I have no idea what product to try next since I can't use lotions or most soaps, because they will just make it worse.
I am currently using Apple Cider Vinegar on my arms and it hasn't made it worse, but it hasn't improved too much either. I'd welcome any advice you could give me! Thanks!

Re: Losing hope

Hi Linzy,

It can be so frustrating trying so many different remedies, and seeing no improvement.

I hope you gave each remedy you tried at least 30 days. Several here have posted that it took even longer than that to see results.

Don't give up hope. There has to be something that will help you. Keep trying and keep in touch.

Re: Losing hope

try the aluminum oxide crystals dermabrasion for 2 months then apply neostrata aha 15% lotion meaning it has 15% glycolic acid for the external and flax seeds and flax seed oil to treat the inside. if u treat inside and outside at same time it meets in the middle. as this is the only affective treatment that has ever worked for me. and some charcoal or sulphur soap when u bath after dermabrasion. mine is 80% gone and i only been doing this 2 months.

Re: Losing hope

Germanboner,
Where do you purchase aluminum oxide crystals? And what is your method of using them. I have heard lots about sulphur soap too...have you found that this is worth using?

Re: Losing hope

Did you try going on a diet and weeding out food groups to see if you are sensative to any. Specifically try going without wheat/sugar/caffine for a little and see if it seems to calm down or go away.

Re: Losing hope

see linzy nothing will work unless the hard caps are removed off ur bumps. u have to do that first so the glycolic acid can get into ur pores and clean out the keratin build up below the skin surface. unless u do dermabrasion and the only thing strong enough to work is aluminum oxide crystals cause there razor sharp. sugar scrubs and salt scrubs are too weak. so people who just apply lotions, apple cider vinager and any other stuff on there skin is wasting time cause it cant get into the pores and not strong enough to remove keratin plugs. so if u order aluminum oxide crystals , order 2 or 3lbs at a time and a bottle of neostrata aha 15 or any other lotion or cream that has 15% glycolic acid or if ur skin can stand it try the 20% glycolic acid . but dont use it untill ur dermabrasion treatment is done cause it will do no good untill ur pores are all unclogged and ur bumps are sanded down to a flat finish on ur skin surface then thats when you use the glycolic acid . i promise u this treatment will work with anyone who has kp no exceptions. so try it linzy ull be so glad u did.

I find when I exfoliate it makes my bumps more obvious and more red. Sometimes they'll look quite red for a couple of days. But I do think that long term it is good for the skin even if immediately afterwards it looks worse.

Re: Losing hope

Though it's probably recommended you don't have to do mechanical dermabrasion for glycolic acid to work. I didn't and I believe someone else didn't either and still had wonderful results.

Glycolic acid was the only thing that worked for me btw. I saw results in less than 2 weeks, applying 2x a day. You just gotta be persistent with it...

warning: if you're asian though, it may make your skin darker

Re: Losing hope

yes true but only 15% have sucess with glycolic acid alone. if u want to guarantee results the aluminum oxide crystals dermabrasion once a day for 2 solid months guarantees 100% results . wish i could post that link on here . if everyone would read it and see the pics and follow the treatment everyone could get rid of there kp. this method has worked for everyone who tried it i swear on my life by it. this lady is a savior.

yea when u first start exfoliateing ur skin it does make them redder but that only cause u are irritating them which is only natural cause its a potent treatment. but after two weeks and ur skin becomes use to it that all stops. dont underestimate these white dry crystals they are very potent but they get the job done and the only thing strong enough to shed that dead skin and remove them hard keratin caps. so ur first week ur skin mite be a lil pinkish and red but that only because it is working and it will quickly heal as it says in the link. so ur first week or two as it says if ur skin stings a lil or tingly its ok to skip a day here and there until ur skin has a few weeks to get use to it.
