Need some advice with tanning.
Hey guys, i need some advice as far as tanning. I have KP and KPRF(just redness). I am not naturally pale, only because i have stayed out of the sun to avoid triggers. Think i should try to tan using just sun for short periods of time a day, or is there a very good sun tan lotion that you peeps suggest for a very natural tan. Thanks

Re: Need some advice with tanning.
Hi JustaKid:
I suggest you tan in the sun for 10-15 minutes a day anytime around 9:00 am-11:00am. Sun rays are very beneficial to the body; they help it to absorb some vitamins and also give you a healthy look. Be careful not to over expose because of the risks of skin cancer. ![]() |

I agree with Elsa.
Don't use sun tan lotion, as it blocks Vit. D., a vitamin that helps the absorption of calcium. Use suntan lotion if you will be in the sun for an extended period of time, like at the beach, and don't want to get burned. kebod |

Re: Need some advice with tanning.
I heard you should avoid the sun between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, because that's the time when the UV rays are most deadly or whatever.
I've worked my way up to exposing my KP up to an hour in the sun, but I'm not going to do any longer. The KP still looks bad compared to normal skin, but it looks way better than it did before. The bumps are very reduced, and over half of them are gone[as in you can only see the coloring]. Even some of the coloring is starting to fade, or blend in with the tan. So I would definitely give tanning a try, as it's the best thing thats worked for me so far. I wouldn't recommend artificial tanning, however. Since you're pale, I'd agree with elsa. Do it for 10-15 minutes for a couple weeks, see what happens. Get back to us, I wanna see how you do. |
