can you see the plugs or "stuff" in your pores...whats next?? [my story w/pics]

i can see lots of the plugs in there, and im not picking them out..very tempting but i just keep scrubing but on my stomach now im starting to see "gunk" almost like black heads...is this from all vitamins/ bringing it to the surface or am i just not scrubbing enough?? i never had an issue with my stomach but now i have ugly strech marks post pregnancy which makes treating it problematic. anyone relate?? is this a sign that treatment is getting better? The bumps are not sprouting up i'm assuming since there just "hanging around" towards the surface lol...my regime had the constants but i'm always adding to it...and sticking to what works.
  • i take multi vitamins
  • fish oil
  • and this new glutathione accelerator my mom recommended for my fatigue, the lady says it helped her acne soo I've only been on it for 2 weeks I'm not sure if its helping but might as well list it.
  • scrub 4 times a week with microderm crystals (arms and chest only)
  • apply coconut oil daily (pure from the philipines...really gave me smooth thighs and rear no diff in bumps really..this ive been doing for months)
  • before the coco oil I use this Papaya astringent cleanser since I read that the papain extract helps(I think this might be the cause for the surfacing plugs?? maybe this also came from like a Chinese/Asian skin store..l)
  • and lac hydren on the nights when i get a good nights sleep since its soo sticky (but thighs daily since I'm double experimenting)
  • i also switched my soap to just Dial since I'm trying to avoid spreading bacterial infections and this actually helped a lot
  • And now i've stepped my sun exposure but this is still limited to like 2 days a week if that completely sleeveless)
i really dont know if what i'm doing is working.. ive only been faitful to the above for about 1 1/2 months since everything else didnt work...
its kind of apparent that there has been little change over the course of a year with derm/peels/sea buck/acv...
heres June/2007

And heres more recent..april 2008

here u can see my scaring that even chem peels didn't help =[

WONDERFUL POST! I appreciate the photos!

I can see some of the plugs on my legs, but exfoliating with seaweed soap seems to help that. The KP on my calves, thighs, and buttocks are actually smoothing out and diminishing somewhat because of the exfoliating and moisturizing, but the brown and red dots (i'm asian) are still very prominent. I have no idea how to get rid of them.

I think your best best now would be to exfoliate with Reviva Seaweed Soap. I absolutely love it and saw a big difference once I started using it. The backs of my arms are baby soft. I still have some dark spots--not sure if it's scarring--but at least they're smooth to the touch and the sun will probably fade them.

Nature's Gate Papaya Lotion contains papain, so I've noticed that it helps to smooth out my KP. The scent is very strong and might not be to your liking, but it's an organic lotion and contains oils. Worth a shot.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks so much for posting pictures, I'd like to say that the skin around your kp looks very hydrated and moisturized so whatever lotion your using seems to be good, I think you would have success using a 10% aha lotion from paula's choice that I'm using it's called "skin revealing lotion" I think you'll see good result in a couple of weeks. And I also think you should use the crystals for 5 days straight then taking a five day break so your skin can heal.

IMHO, depending when you started the dietary stuff - the vitamins, fish oil and glutathione accel (what is the name or brand of that?) - your KP looks to me like much of my old KP that took the life-time of the hairs to work out. depending how fast the hair grows in certain areas, that can be 4 to 6 months I've learned. I had to look it up because people around here say "try something for at least 6 weeks" but 6 weeks is NOTHING for the really deep stuff I've had where my hair wasn't growing. So, again in my humble opinion, from my experience I would say it can take some months before you see real progress. I personally think that your arms look slightly better, there are less bright red spots, they seem more even toned does that sound right? you may be on the right path. while the topical stuff helps me a little bit, there've been some other major changes in my skin over the course of a year (remember I'm old - 43. or am I 44 now, oops...) that appear to come from me finally getting some of my nutrition s**t straightened out. I would encourage you to stay the course and take a few deep breaths. Give those deep nasties a few more weeks to loosen up maybe... bd

I think your post was great! Thank you for your honesty and for sharing. I have a very similiar situation as you! But have lost patience with my daily routine. Keep us posted because you are doing the right thing!
