Hey Everyone
I have been batteling my kp sinse i was a young teen. I had it when I was young but for a few years it went away. I have no idea why, I did nothing to treat it but for a few years of my life i didnt have to worry about it at all. I am now 18 and about a year and a half ago my kp came back.. and its horrible! its all over the top of my arms and on the front and backs of my thighs. I have tried everything I have seen on this site.. I went out and bought a huge 20 dollar jar of coconut oil hoping and praying it would be the product i needed to clear it up. i oil pulled for 20 minutes, twice a day, for 2 months. Not only did I oil pull with the coconut oil i applied it to my arms and legs twice a day. nothing. Not one single bumb got better i actually noticed no change at all with the oil pulling. I have used amlactin lotion, coconut oil, aha, salysic acid, tanning, everything. NOTHING will clear it up not even a little bit. Its a very sad feeling to know this may never go away when it looks so horrible, even if it just got a LITTLE better I would be happy! If anyone has any products that has helped or cleared their kp that I did not mention it would be alot of help. I am willing to try anything. I have a beautiful tattoo on my back that I can never show off because I am embarrassed about my arms.. and now my legs are getting worse. Right now i am using a body scrub with salysic acid, a body wash with salysic acid, and cleaning my skin with salysic acid pads and using a salysic acid moisturizure. Im praying maybe this will atleast help. I am also tanning. If there is anyone that could give me just a little bit of advice it would be very helpful! |

Re: Running out of options
Hi Amanda,
I'm sorry to hear that none of the products or remedies you tried have helped. What is your diet like? Do you exercise, drink plenty of water and take an omega 3 supplement? Sorry if this sounds nosey, but I wish I knew if those of us who do see results are on a cleaner diet so that is what makes a difference. I really don't know. kebod |

Re: Running out of options
Have you tried Sea Buckthorn? It's working really well for me. I think my KP must be 50% better now (it's been about 6 weeks). I don't think it works for everyone but there does seem to be a decent scientific reasoning behind it and I'm having great results.

Re: Running out of options
I'm 21 and i have the worst case of my life!!! i just had a baby and i had a major change in diet which i think may have sparked it. however, i did just try my son's a and d ointment and it seemed to help somewhat. i also using the ointment in conjunction with clearasil cleansing pads. and to be honest, i am a picker and i think only not picking is going to help.

Re: Running out of options
Dear Kebod,
I actually have a very healthy diet! I eat PLENTY of fruits and vegetables everyday and im drinking water non-stop! Im actually drinking it as a type! I play tennis and I run, im at a healthy weight and im in good shape.. I just recently stopped the oil pulling because it was kind of a pain and im on a very busy schedule, I work full time and go to school full time. Im going to get back into it tho even tho I saw no health results I know it cant possibly be hurting and maybe it does something that I cant see. I do not take any kind of omega 3 tho. Could I take fish oil pills? I do eat fish pretty regularly like tuna and salmon but probably not as much as I should. Thanks so much for your advice! Your forums really got me hoping the oil pulling would vanish my kp but I know not every treatment works for everyone. I am always willing to try anything tho Dear Anna, I have not tried the sea buckthorn treatment yet, but I plan to very soon. Ive heard of people having positive results and from you first hand. Is there anywhere you can buy it in town or is it only available on the internet? Would walmart have it? I know my town has a few organic food stores and vitamin stores would they possibly carry it? I know they all carried the coconut oil. Do you just use the soap? any info would help maybe the sea buckthorn could work for me as well! Dear Denise, I am also using the clearasil cleansing pads. Have you noticed any results? I also pick occasionally but I have been trying really hard to stop. Not picking never seems to make it go away but it definately looks alot better when i dont have the scabs all over my arms! Its hard not to pick when you look at your arms and there is huge mountains with puss inside it seems like picking would make them go away, you know like a zit? Anyways, best of luck to everyone! Thanks so much for your advice, I am determined to get rid of this! Its nice to know there are so many people out there who understand what I'm going through! Amanda |

I also use coconut oil which I don't think is vital because I was seeing results before I started using it but when I did start using it some things that I think were keratin plugs came out of my pores so it maybe speeds things up. It's a very good moisturiser anyway if you use it straight after showering as it locks any moisture you have into your skin. So I'm only using the soap and the capsules, but I'm not sure if they're both necessary because I've been taking both. I was actually surprised at how easy it was for me to find the soap and capsules and begin the treatment but I think anything with sea buckthorn probably has an effect. For example, most people seem to use SB lotion or oil on their skin which I would have a really hard time finding over here so I just think see what you can find. If for example you find the drink and the lotion easier to obtain then have a go with them. Maybe even with a small amount you could tell whether your skin is reacting or not (because it gets worse at first) so I'd just have a look for what's available easily to you in your area or on the net. There's lots of people from the US on the SB thread at the top of the forum so you might get more luck asking there if they don't see this post. |

Re: Running out of options
amanda here is what u do go to ebay order 2 to 3 lbs of aluminum oxide crystals(the dry white power crystals that they use in dermabrasion machines) and do this for 2 to 3 months once a day in the bath tub just sit on edge of tub take a big pinch ad a few drops of water and a few drop of moisturizer in it and rub in circular motions wherever ur kp is. after 2 to 3 months ur bumps will be smooth and flat to the skin surface and ull only see red dots. then u get neostrata aha 15% glycolic acid lotion and apply once a day and after a another month all signs of ur kp will be gone. see u have to unclogged the pores and sand the down to a flat finish first then the glycolic acid will get way deep into the skin to clear out the trapped keratin buildup deep down into ur kp and then ur kp will disappear. just applying aha will not work u must dermabrasion with these crystals first and get ur bumps smooth flat and open before aha will work. try this and i promise u ur kp will be gone cause mine is. all of it. oh and one other thing u must apply this lotion once every two days once ur kp is gone cause it prevents new keratin build up from happening. u can get the crystals and neostrata on ebay just type in it in many sellers have it. hope this helps sincerely eric

Re: Running out of options
My suggestion, try narrowing out foods. For example try stopping anything with high sugar for a week even fruit. It may be worth it, if you find your skin is sensative to sugar than it will help. Try doing this with sugar, caffine, nuts, dairy, wheat and get back to us. Good luck, don't worry i am an 18 y/o guy and i know most guys could care less about skin.
