Products that WORK:
-Reviva Seaweed Soap (great for exfoliating KP)
-Olay Body Wash Plus Jojoba Oil Cream Ribbons (great for moisturizing)
-Carrot Soap (seems to help calm the KP)
-Nature's Gate Papaya Body Lotion (scent is very heavy, but it does a good job of moisturizing and smoothing the bumps)

Re: Commercial products that have worked

I have tried MANY different regimens but I finally found one that really has worked. It is by Dermadoctor and it is called KP Duty. It is specifically designed for KP. There is a scrub that you use in the shower and then a lotion that you follow with. Simple, 2 steps. I get it at Sephora.com and Sephora stores. It is a bit pricey ($44 scrub, $36 lotion) but it WORKS! Here is a link: Keratosis Pilaris

The Glytone KP kit along with microdermabrasion every two weeks. You have to have faith in the product though, believe me! I got worse at the beginning and that lotion can sting like crazy, especially if you scrub too hard in the shower. I wanted to give up many times and looking at my "condition" in the mirror brought tears to my eyes, literally. It was on my back, my chest and the back of my neck (and I have short hair) aaaahhhhhhh! AND, the bumps were not tiny, they looked like acne/bacne. But then all of a sudden there was nothing on my chest, and then the back of my neck was perfect and the last hold-out area was the shoulder blades. The dermatologist told me to give them a scrub now and then and just skip the lotion that day. AND now it's perfect. It's like a miracle and I'm sure that you all who've had skin problems most of their life like I have can understand my JOY. I have also used the Dermadoctor scrub intermittently and I agree that it is very good. It feels like more than just a scrub. When I use it, I also feel a chemical component dissolving and loosening the dead skin cells and the scrub particles just facilitate the removal. However, I have not tried their lotion.
Furthermore, on days when I was just too dry or too irritated I used Aveeno body wash for dry skin and cetaphil cream (not the lotion.) I do use the KP kit though as much as possible because my dermatologist said that it works best if you use it twice a day. I started this regimen in early December and became completely clear towards the end of April. But remember, my case was severe.

Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion
It leaves a bit of a greasy residue, but I used it twice a day (after shower and before bed) and my bumps are completely gone on the tops of my thighs. I've since slacked off and it came back a bit on the backs and with a vengeance on the backs of my arms, but it's a great daily all-over lotion anyway so it's worth a try. I even used it on my face in the winter because my cheeks get dry

Re: Commercial products that have worked

Hi everyone! New member here. I recently bought some lemon sugar scrub from bath and body works and use it on the areas that have KP and it seems to make it smoother and lessen the redness. It costs 20.00 a jar, but I lucked out in getting 3 jars for 4 bucks a piece during the semi-annual sale. The store I went to was discouting them. This scrub is made by Co. Bigelow by the way.

I have a pretty stubborn case of KP, it is all over my upper and lower arms, my upper legs and buttocks.
Some of the products that I have tried are:
LacHydrin
Retin-A
Carmol 20
Various brands like NeoStrata & Aqua Glycolic in various AHA percentages
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA
Home peel kits with 70% glycolic acid strength
Salicylic acid 3% BHA only sold in (Canada)
e-Topical “Nourish” 1.8% BHA

What worked the best for my type of KP was the e-Topical. The higher percentages of AHA and the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA smoothed the skin pretty well, but the skin felt dry and tight and almost looked aged. The 3% BHA from Canada was not as effective as Paula’s Choice. The e-Topical smoothed the bumps, but left my skin feeling soft and supple. This was very important, because you want the skin to be smooth, but not dried out which my skin was becoming due the twice or three times daily applications of both BHA & AHA products. Here is a link where you can watch a video of founder talk about e-Topical.

By the way, the e-Topical did not interfere as much with my sunless tanner the way the AHA products did.
