Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
Commercial Laser Hair removal. I had five treatments at Louisville Laser in Spokane. I have a couple of spots occasionally, but ultimately I am clear of the eruptions and scaly skin. I am 39, and had the treatments done a couple of years ago, so I do have a lot of redness left from all of the years of picking at it (lovely).
I wish someone had told me years ago that this would almost totally cure me of this, but the upside is that Laser Hair Removal is relatively inexpensive these days. I would recommend 8 treatments to totally remove all pigmented hairs. Now I will work on improving the scarring. ![]() |

KP Decreased by 80% When Dairy and Gluten are Eliminated from Diet
thanks to Kebod
Hi everyone and especially Kebod. I know you asked me to post the same things i told you about my treatment but i cant find it so i will write it again. Inspired by Kebods natural treatment i did my own trial and the results are more than satisfactory. I couldnt make the test for food intolerance because in my country they are difficult and expensive to find but i tried the old way. I quited gluten and dairy for a month and Kp reduced 80 percent y could say. Then i ate only gluten and Kp came back with anger. Quited again and ate only dairy and so on. The results were clear. If i eat gluten and dairy Kp appears and now that i have been gluten/nuts (but almonds) and dairy free for 3 weeks my Kp (wich to remind you all i used to have in my arms complete, legs, butt and sides of the back) is almost gone. I dont know how to explain it but it is like they reduce bit by bit and red dots get fainter and like shrink. It is complitely gone in my forearms and back, and almost gone like 90 percent ir the rest. I have also writed down every day what i ate, temperature (as it changes with it), sun bathing, lotions (allways olive oil) and it made no difference really. External treatment was allways and the reactions were linked to what i ate. And my skin is SOFT thing that is lovely. Now that i have to investigate for gluten and dairy free recipies y talked to some celiacs in my country that told me that they used to have Kp but when they started there special diets it went away. (Timings being different for each. 1 to 3 months). There is actually an skin disease called Dermatitis Herpetiforme that is now considered a form of celiac wothought any other simptoms of celiac disease (like weigh loss and vit problems). Im not saying that we are celiacs but for me it is now clear that it is something related to food intolerance. On friday im going to have Pulsed Light hair removal done on my legs. The machine they are going to use also gets rid of scars. It is a bit expensive but i can afford it right now so im giving it a shot as im (luckily) also very hairy!! Then if it works properly in my legs i will do it in my arms. Will keep you updated. I can live withought gluten and dairy for the rest of my life. Give it a shot. Even if you cant afford the test you can allways do it the way i have. Just needs a bit of patience. Thanks for reading and i hope this helps someone. Cheers!! ![]() Ayla thanks to Kebod |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
I just found out last Monday that what is on the back of my thighs is KP.
I bought Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash and Scrub and use it daily. I also got the Philosophy Soul Owner and have been applying it twice a day. I have already noticed a drastic improvement. While it is not gone, it is much much better. I can't wait to see how it looks in another week. I am so glad I stumbled on this site. Thanks! |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
This is what seems to work for me after much trial and error.
I currently use Aubrey - Sea Buckthorn Soap in the shower with a loofah washcloth. Next, after I dry off I rub a cotton ball soaked with Sea Breeze Astringent for Sensitive Skin all over my arms. Then I apply Prosacea gel all over my arms as well. Now, you are probably wondering why I would apply a rosacea treatment on my arms, well my dermatologist told me that the redness on my arms is actually a combination of rosacea and KP. This gel is awesome in reducing the redness that I get with KP. Next, I apply Avon's Skin Bump Minimizer and finish with my prescription lotion Salex. I have been using the Avon lotion for only 2 weeks and my arms have never looked better. I wished I would have known about the product sooner. I encourage anyone who wants to get rid of KP to try this product. It is well worth the price. I also take on a daily basis the following pills: multivitamin omega 3-6-9, chelated zinc, and evening primrose. |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
Hi Everyone,
This is my first time on this KP website, I'm in the UK and I have find a really good treatment for KP, it's not a cure as such as there really isnt one! But it has improved the look of my KP 100%, keeps bumps at bay and also helped with some scarring from earlier infections. It's really cost effective a lasts me ages. It's called NIXODERM by SC Johnson, it comes in a small green tin 17g and costs me about £5.00 (thats about $3.50 with postage on Ebay. It contains: Benzoic acid - 6% Titanium Dioxide - 10% Salicylic acid - 2.5% Menthol - 1.1% precipitated Sulphur - 4.6% "In a soothing emollient base" All I do is mosturise in the morning, say cocoa or coconut butter, then at night put a thin layer of this all over my arms. The first time you use it be brave as it might sting and it will go really hot. This shows that the acids are breaking down dead skins/plugs. It's actually an acne treatment so also improves the look of skin and any infected bumps you might have. I have English Rose fair skin so be careful if you have asian or afro caribbean skins as it might bleach them. It also doubles up as an acne cream, just a small dot on spots before bed gets ride of them. I havent seen this a treatment on any other websites or threads so I am happy to share my little secret. I hope to hear from anyone who tries it and if it helps them. Good Luck Guys. |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
Hi everyone. I'm brand new (today) to this website and wanted to thank all of your for sharing your successful remedies. I also wanted to share that, within the last 5 years, I've had great success with my KP clearing up after I have been swimming in the ocean. It's something with the salt water (and possibly sunlight combination) that has had dramatic (and I mean dramatic) results on my KP. I would say about 80-90% clear up (especially on my right arm). I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? If so, I was also wondering if someone knew of a in-home remedy similar to the salt-water approach? I tried replicating this in the bath, but I don't know what kind of salt would work and how much I would have to use. I tried regular table salt which did absolutely nothing. Any advice would be apprecited. I will also continue perusing the rest of the remedies you've all shared! Thanks again for creating this online support community!

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
nina,
I just wanted to let you know that I've done the same thing many years ago and wrapped my upper arms in saranwrap. I've had success and failure but it was never consistent in terms of getting my arms to be smooth. I stopped this for many years and was thinking of trying this again. I used a combination of creams and topical ointments to experiment what works best. Thanks for sharing this treatment! |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
grunkenn,
If you want to replicate the salt water exposure in a bathtub, I would use pure sea salt without the anti-caking additives. You can buy it at natural food or health food store. I don't know if this would produce the same results, as you may be correct that this method works best in combination with sunlight exposure. If you try this again with sea salt, please let us know. kebod |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
Hi everyone,
I posted recently about Nixoderm which helps sore areas and scarring. I have suffered with KP for around 2.5 years and developed it at the age of 25! I have tried oil pulling, fish oil suppliments, KP doctor, shea and coconut butter, steriod creams, ureas creams, scrubbing, pumices etc with no real results. The only real results came from a villa with pool holiday, I think it was the combination of the sun shine and the swimming pool water as it healed great, but within a week of arriving home new blockages/bumps had formed. I have read recently that these symptoms are related to diet. I have now been Wheat/Gluten free for around 10 days. Results - FAB, no new bumps, bumps disappearing, redness gone and healing well. Amazing results and quick and it has also kept my irritable bowel at bay. Worth a try for anyone running out of ideas? |

Re: Thread Devoted to What Works For You
SF,
I continue to believe that diet is key to controlling KP for many of us. More people are gluten intolerant and they don't realize it. It would only take a little self-education, via Google or another internet search engine, to learn about gluten-free diets. You owe it to yourself to give this a try for 30 days. The worst that can happen is that you may lose a few pounds. kebod |
