Race issues
I'm just curious...
I went an event this afternoon at a park (on a very hot day) in which most of the attendants are Asian. Three of them also had KP on their arms and legs. I've noticed them on other Asians I've run into as well. So I'm wondering, is KP more dominant in certain races? If so, why? |

I heard this was true w/ Irish and English people. This is what I was told anyway. I am both English and Irish from my Father and my Mother is German and Ukrainian. So who knows, I guess it's very hard to tell.

I hear there is a lot of it in Asians as well. I am a fourth generation Japanese American and I have it.

I am Asian; Taiwanese to be exact. I have severe KP on my arms and legs, but my sister has flawless skin. My mom told me that she had it when she was younger before she had any children, but now her arms are flawless. I'm not sure who exactly is affected more than another, but I know that I'm definitely affected. Anyway, just thought I would share.

Asian/taiwanese also here....just joined the site.....the last time I got my KP checked was over 8 years ago, and they didn't even tell me that it was called KP had to find out the name myself after looking online 5 years later.....had it ever since I was little. They say it disappears with age, but i'm still waiting. People think that its goosebumps and that i'm really cold. Just recently bought KP Duty from Dermadoctor.com, it was $36, kinda pricey, but so far its not bad, doesn't mask the KP, but makes the skin feel smoother. I'm glad I found this site, its nice to know i'm not the only out there with KP.

I'm Latino of Mexican descent to be exact. I have KP all over my legs, arms, back, and chest. I have seen other Mexican Americans like me with KP. My best friend who is also Mexican, but who's family's roots originate in a different part of Mexico, also has KP. His case is much milder of course. He only has it on his arms. A co-worker who is Japanese/Irish/British/French, and who knows what else, also has KP. Her case is very mild, you can hardly tell. At school I noticed a girl who's KP resembled mine and she's Armenian. So this genetic skin disorder is like cancer; it does not descriminate!

Re: Race issues
I am African American, and I know plenty of African Americans with it. Not sure if race matters here. 50-60% of the population suffers from kp.

Re: Race issues
I am a typical central Europeans from the Slavic nation ( "dark blonde" hair, green eyes, white skin, which almost never tan). Sometimes I see someone with mild KP, but I do not know anyone personally. My kp is severe on the arms, butt and calves, mild on my thighs. I have itchy scalp.
