Hello! I'm new to the forum, having joined after trawling the web until my eyes hurt now that I have finally discovered what these 'bumps' are! I am 30 and have had
KP without knowing it for years - a mildish case compared with pictures I have seen, but it varies. It is mostly on my upper arms though has appeared on my forearms and legs to a lesser extent recently. My question is: does anyone think there is a connection between
KP and excessive hair in the affected area? From what I have read, having
KP should if anything make a person appear less hairy, as the hairs can be trapped and coiled beneath the bumps? but I have noticed a major increase in the the number - and bizarrely, the length - of the hairs on my upper arms that I do think is related to the condition... it's as though the hairs are not shedding and so are growing to abnormal lengths. The hair is fairly blonde and I have had normal blood hormone results so it is not classed as hirsutism and sadly is too blonde to be suitable for laser hair removal...it is an unusual body area to have excessive hair and I don;t know how to tackle it,it is really distressing. Any similar experiences or ideas at all? Is the excess hair just coincidental? I am hoping that by tackiling the
KP I might find a remedy for the hair too?
Thanks for reading this loooong post, I am so confused!
