Hi. I'm new to the community. Had kp on arms and legs as a kid but not on my face until my thirties. Just came to the realization recently that it is KP on my face and not regular acne. Looking for any recommendations anyone might have. Thanks.

Re: KP on face
Hi - and welcome to the forum. I was just (probably like you) wondering why it has appeared now. Usually KP and its variant appear in childhood and teenage years (this may provide some clue as to help it go away again???).
Can you think of anything happening prior to it appearing i.e. - change in diet - pregnancy - weight gain - change in where you live - been on medication such as Roaccutane (Isotretion) Do you still have KP on your body? and has this got worse at the same time bumps appeared on your face? Sorry for all the questions but it may help explain why KP has suddenly appeared on your face in your 30's and from there the best way to deal with it. |

Re: KP on face
Hi. Thanks for replying. That's a really good point. It appeared on my face after some weight gain. But has gotten much worse since the birth of my 2 children. And I put on a lot more weight with my pregnancies.
I do have some on my body. Mostly my back. This also really got worse with my pregnancies. I've also had some female issues. Fibroids. Hormonally induced? |

Re: KP on face
From being on this forum for a while I notice that it is not uncommon for women to have an increase in KP symptoms after pregnancy.
I have also noticed that KP usually gets better with age however one thing that seems to stop this is excess weight. Often weight gain and pregnancy go hand in hand so sometimes it is hard to work out which contributed most to the symptoms. I would hope that losing weight and a healthy diet including essential fatty acids (I have found these helpful for my skin) would help to alleviate the KP spots on your face. Best wishes Anne |
