Question I need AHA help

So Ive been using AHA 15% for about a week and have seen great results. I exfoliate then use the AHA twice a day. My bumps have gone down greatly and are almost nonexistant. My red dots have faded quite a bit too. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS... My skin is so dry to the point of flaking. It doesnt hurt it just flakes and is dry. I was wondering if anyone else is using an AHA treatment and if this has happened to them, if it did what should I do?? Is it okay to use a another lotion after using the AHA lotion or will it counter the effects of the AHA?? I cant stop using the AHA lotion cuz Im getting such great results but I dont think the excessive drying is good either. I thought about adding coco butter in the middle of the day (In between my AHA lotions) but I am afraid that it will impede with the AHA lotion?? Does anyone know what the best routine for me is???

Re: I need AHA help

I suggest you moisturize your skin with a no-fragrance lotion with aloe vera.

Aloe Vera Skin Benefits:
  1. Burn healing effects
  2. Moisturizes skin
  3. Scar reduction
  4. Anti-inflammatory properties
The most important thing with any KP treatment is to moisturize the KP areas because they seem to be dryer and rougher.

Also it is important to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.

Good Luck!

Re: I need AHA help

So I wanted to update on my AHA treatment. I started to make my own sugar scrub at home instead of re-buying the one I was using and this stuff rocks. The one that i bought at the store had lots of oils in it which smelled wonderful and did the job but the one that i make myself is GREAT. I use just sugar and honey together and form it in a paste and rub it in wet skin. The exfoliation is amazing. The store bought sugar scrub was too gentle (especially for someone with KP). I had dry skin but after using the sugar scrub and really exfoliating, its not flaking anymore at all and thats great. The AHA that I use is neostrata 15% lotion and you can buy it through neostrata, amazon, or just type in neostrata into google and they will give all the sites that sell it. Ihave just recieved today my DCL 20% lotion and I got all these free samples with it too, which I am really excited about. It was only $14 dollars, I mean its still expensive for the ammount you get but the neostrata is like 25-30 not including shipping so hopfully this stuff will work better and I can just re-purchase this. Okay,so my skin is better than a week ago. Its not perfect BUT with the results that I am getting I know that my skin will look great with some more time. I have almost no bumps (maybe 2 on my whole body), My skin is whiter and much more clear than last week. The only problem that I have are those darn red dots but they are slowly starting to fade. I realize that you cant ever stop using AHA lotions or the KP will just come back but I dont mind. No offense to anyone but I would much rather be putting lotion on then doing any eliminating diet or OP or whatever other treatment is on this site. NOT that those treatments are bad,but just that didnt work for me. I will keep up on the updates

Re: I need AHA help

I've heard REALLY good reviews on DCL AHA Revitalizing Lotion 10, 15, & 20. It clears the dots and bumps supposedly, it just takes a long time.
