Re: How to apply glycolic

Is it cream?

I think it must be at night, after showering and leave it on because is low %.

In the morning you HAVE to wash it off
and ALWAYS apply moisturizing lotion or cream with Sunscreen/ Sunblock SPF15+

Re: How to apply glycolic

well for the best results you should put it on twice a day and leave it on. and always use sun block.

Re: How to apply glycolic

I don't think its really necessary to wash it off daily. You don't want to shower any more then you really need to, which in my case is every 2~3 days. Showering dries out your skin, and using soap makes it even worse. I only use soap on my body about 2 times a week, max.

I'm waiting for my dermabrasion crystals to come in the mail. I haven't been using anything for my KP for about a month. I got sick of not seeing any progress with the 10% Lactic Acid lotion I was on.

Anyways, yeah start applying it once a day before bed. If it makes your skin red, don't use it again until your skin calms down. Then try it again at night. Do this until you can use it every night without irritation. After about a week (after you work up to using it once daily), you should up using it to twice daily. Its definitly safe to up the % after 6 weeks, but 4 should be fine. When you start using 15%, use this same, careful method. You don't want to do more harm then good.

If your skin is becoming overly irritated by using it twice a day, you may only need to use it once a day.

If you use it after a shower, you should probably wait about a half hour after the shower before putting it on. It might be better to make sure its on as long as possible, so if you shower at night, put it on at night. And like I said, you don't need to shower every day unless you see a good reason to. Once every 2~3 days is fine.

Re: How to apply glycolic

Our cultures are very different. Maybe the climate/weather plays an important role.

Here we take showers 2 times a day (morning and before going to bed), always with soap. If you go to the gym or exercise, you take another shower.
Here in Puerto Rico the weather is very warm, 88 F

Re: How to apply glycolic

^Yeah, it depends on where you live a lot. If its hot, you do a lot of sweating, and you don't want to smell like sweat all day. I live in the North East so it takes me a loooooooong time to get stinky. I walk about 30 minutes a day, and that doesn't even make me sweat! I have to keep a humidifier on 24/7, wherever possible, basically.

Re: How to apply glycolic

only 10% where'd you get that? I bought glycolic acid gel (chemical peel) that is 35%.. 10% is the amount you'd find in strydex pads. not very strong, in other words.
