Chinese Medicine healing my KP-Accupunture

About a month ago I had my first experience with acupuncture. I decided to go because for the last 6 months I’ve been having severe anxiety accompanied by heart palpitations and flushing. In high school I treated my anxiety with prescription dugs, but for numerous reasons I have decided to treat this reoccurrence without pills.
Anyway, I was explaining to my Doc. about my heart palpitations and anxiety, but he seemed much more concerned about my KP than my heart. He said’ “let’s treat your skin.” I was surprised because I had recently resolved to just live with it after having tried other methods of treatment with moderate success ( omega 3 and Seabuckthorn oil).
They stuck a bunch of needles in me and made me a tea to drink every day. They said something about removing blood heat? I am happy to report that the redness of my KP has faded dramatically over the last four weeks. What a happy surprise. And I am having less anxiety. There is a school of Chinese Medicine near my home and it’s very affordable - $14 a visit and $18 for two weeks of tea.
I was wondering if any one else has tried acupuncture and had positive experience treating their KP?

Re: Chinese Medicine healing my KP

Hi Badcattoe,

I also have 'good' experiences with accupuncture. The reason why I visited a accupuncturist was my KP, but he found a bunch of other things that weren't OK. I'll keep my story short: After several months of accupuncture and diet, all of it is healed, except my KP. But I remembered he said the same thing to me: blood heat. I was joking with it, said I am a hot person :-), but now I'm very curious because you mention it also. He never prescribed me with something for that... So here's my question: The tea, is that the only thing you have to drink/use? And what's the name of the tea please? I know it is probably hard to write in Chinese ;-) but can you give me a little more information about this tea, please.

Thank you very much!!!!

I get asked if I’m sunburned a lot. My flushing seems like it’s less. I feel less red. Today it’s supposed to be 80 F (freak weather), so I’ll se how it goes.

I can’t right now. It’s not a pre-packaged tea. The place I’m going for treatment is an acupuncture clinic and a Chinese herb dispensary. 2 weeks of tea is about 3lbs. of bark, leaves, and sticks that I don’t know how to identify. But it was made specifically for my skin. My next appointment is on Fri. and I will try to get more info. Take Care-

Re: Chinese Medicine healing my KP

That's OK, I will hear you Friday. Can you please try to get more info about this tea, like what herbs they are using,... And maybe info about the reason they give you this tea, like for your liver, other organs, something that doesn't function the right way,...

I'm sorry I ask you so many questions, but if I know more about this tea, I will visit my accupuncturist again to see if he can do something for me. For me this is very important, because it is exact the same thing he said to me...

Thanks!!!
