Smile Wedding....Neep KP Help

Hello Everyone,

I am brand new to this forum and I'm so glad to be a new member.

Here's a little background...I remember having KP for my entire life. When I was younger, my mom always told me I must not be washing well in the shower (or something like that) because my skin should not be this way.

Well, my mom is a nurse and she ended up working for a dermatologist when I was in my late teens....only then did we both realize it was KP. I was so happy to finally have my skin problem addressed, but the Doc simply told me "it usually will clear up as you age." I am now in my late 20s and I still have KP just the same as before. I was, and I still am slightly disappointed that my skin has not improved with age.

To be honest, I've never really been totally embarrassed by having KP...it's always been slightly annoying, but I think I have a more mild case that others...I do have reddish bumps, but only on my upper arms and they aren't very severe.

However, I am planning my wedding for early fall and I tried on wedding dresses the other day. Let me tell you...my KP has never looked so terrible in clothing before. The white dress makes all of the redness and the bumps stand out more than I ever thought it could. I've now decided to take some action to help lessen the appearance of bumps and redness.

I will greatly appreciate any tips for a skin care plan or products to use, etc. to help improve my skin's appearance. Thank You so much!!!

Re: Wedding....Neep KP Help

try spa treatmeants and going in a sauna to smooth the bumps then if there is still redness or bumps i would hire a good makeup artist to hide your kp in a natural looking way.

Hi,

I think the fastest solution would be AHA lotions. Because you only have it on your upperarms. It takes care of the bumps, the redness is the hardest part. But people around here have had great success with it also for the redness. Maybe try oilpulling? This method also works very quickly for reducing the bumps, and if you are the lucky one maybe for the redness too. It can't hurt to try, it is a healthy way of removing toxins out of the blood and for moisturising the skin...

Good luck!

Hello!

Something that can help with te redness is green makeup. Uhumm... in the market there is available a green stick that you put over the red spots and then cover it with foundation or powder. My mom uses it on the cheeks and results are incredible.
Also you can search our forums (using the search field or box located in the top menu of every page). Here is a link that may help you. Good Luck!

4 weeks until the wedding..topical steroid or coverup?
