new coconutty regime?

After scouring this forum a lot, i've been looking out for products everytime i go to the shops. Yesterday i found a few products that were suprisingly cheap! I bought a large 300ml tub of moisturiser, with 100% pure coconut oil in, a lotion with 100% coconut oil in, and just because i love coconut, i bought the face wipes too with coconut milk! There has been some success with coconut oil, but i've had trouble finding this stuff, so i'm going to give this a try. I got out of the shower yesterday, and put on the lotion. Later on i put on some vaseline derma something moisturiser, and then went to bed. This morning, my skin seemed worse, more redder and new bumps. Stupid me decided to squeeze the bumps and right now my legs and arms aren't a pretty sight! I don't know whether this is the effect of the products or i'm just having a bad day? I put some of the lotion on my face (although i dont have kp on my face) and my skin isnt irritated. A warning, the products kind of smell like shae butter, and i know this smell is rather sickly!

I'll post after a while of using this and tell you how its going. I think if it does work, it will be so good, as the products are so cheap, with the large tub being £1 only and the lotion probably the same. THe company is Inecto.

If you want any details let me know and ill have a scout!

Anybody had any luck with coconut products??

Katy,

I have much softer skin by putting 100% coconut oil on my skin. I use if very lightly. Too much, and you feel oily.

As to your skin breaking out, what other ingredients are in the moisturizer beside coconut oil? Perhaps you over-oiled your skin, since you used the coconut moisturizer and vasilene derma. Maybe you clogged the pores.

If you can find pure 100% coconut oil, try it. It is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It stops break-outs.

Re: new coconutty regime?

in the lotion -

Aqua, isopropyl myristate, stearic acid, glycerin, lauryl methyl, cocos nucifera oil and the other usual common ingredients

the moisturiser is the same, except with sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lactate, sodium pca, glycine, fructose, urea, lactic acid and imidazolidinyl urea and some others that i dont think need to be mentioned

in the vaseline dermacare just the usual again, with annuus seed oil and borago officinalis seed oil

I have been applying all three daily.

Can you tell me how your kp improved by using pure coconut oil, the severity to start with and the length of time it took??
