KP and pregnancy

hi, this is my first post here, and i'm wondering, about 2 nights ago my wife starting getting bumps on her upper arms, neck, and legs, we have been researching and this is the only thing we can think of, but my question is, she has never had these bumps before and they just recently came up, is there any chance that they came of because she's pregnant? we don't know if she is or not, but what are the chances of this showing up from her being pregnant?

sorry if this has been answered before, but i couldn't find it.

Re: KP and pregnancy

Quite a number of women on this forum have experienced KP flare-ups during and after pregnancy. See the "women's issues" area:
Women's Issues - Keratosis Pilaris Community Forums
specifically:
for those who've been pregnant
Also the Parent's Corner has similar subjects:

You can also Search these forums for the keyword "pregnancy" and come up with many posts. See if this search works for you:

Some women have good luck increasing their calcium intake which we know is important during pregnancy. Learning about vitamin needs and cautions could be helpful. Many KPers here get improvement taking in more Vitamins A and E but both of those come with cautions. Calcium and D are inter-twined, etc...
Why this all happens during pregnancy? well, scientists have some ideas about why it triggers genetic tendencies (some are worse, like getting RA cause you get pregnant...) I link to a good, fairly easy to understand NOVA bit here:

Hope this helps - good luck - bd
