Something that works for me ... More info?
Hi,
There used to be a link to a forum on here that talked about microdermabrasion/AHA. I have a patch of KP right on my face. Yes, bright red and front and center. It was mistakenly diagnosed as rosacea, and predictably, all treatments failed ... because it is KP! (Like what I have on my arms and back!!) Anyway, I was nervous about the microdermabrasion, but you know what? Bumps on my body are gone and my face isn't anywhere near as red (I have red dots on my face). Plus, I don't have to have a US$800 laser treatment. So it's much better. But I know there was another treatment about AHA, and I want to try that next. My dr won't talk to me about that when I asked, stubbornly insisting I have rosacea. (She told me it can't be KP. There is no pill or cure for KP. But with rosaeca, they can give me cream that doesn't work and is $50 a tube. WTF???) Does anyone know where the link is? I can't find it, and it was the most useful thing I've tried. |

Re: Something that works for me ... More info?
Yes, that's it! Thanks!
I've been doing the dermabrasion as suggested for about 4 months. After a patch test, I started the AHA 12% (Got it over the counter in a cream at my local store). I can already see some of the red dots are normal and others are less red. I am not done, certainly. Still have a way to go, but I have hope that this year will be the year I finally clear up that KP splotch on my face. And the crystals also feel soo good on my arms and back. Something so simple that actually makes sense. Total, I've spent $20 for the dermabrasion crystals, $7 for the Neutrogena face cleaner with dermabrasion crystals, and $7.99 for AHA lotion. For the doctor? $70 for two visits that diagnose rosacea, two tubes of rosacea cream at $130 US -- something that doesn't even come close to working and stings my face. UGH. Legal theft, IMHO. I want my money back! |
