Re: bump eliminator?

Katy,

I had bumps, but no redness. I got rid of the bumps when I started oil pulling. If I stop oil pulling, the bumps come back. To read about this, go to:

Re: bump eliminator?

How often do you still use the AHAs? (and what kinds)
My derm said you cant ever stop, which blows.

Re: bump eliminator?

oh ok, this sounds promising =] ill figure out how to post pictures up because i dont know whether my case is mild or severe, considering i only know one person with it and she's my cousin. Do youget the lotions for free or do you have to pay for them? i went to see my derm, and all he gave me was a bottle of dettol and a heavy duty moisturiser and it did nothing for me, and i dont know whether to ask him for specific treatment or see what he says next?

Re: bump eliminator?

Derms don't know as much about KP as we do. They probably know enough to be able to diagnose it, but since not a lot of research has been done on KP, and they don't spend years trying to research it (like we do), they don't know too much about it in terms of causes or treatments. I find that using the stuff they prescribe to us the majority of time is a big waste of time.

Re: bump eliminator?

The redness is 90% of my concern. I have some bumps but I don't care much about that. It's the visible redness that bothers me!

From what I have seen, it seems that the AHA treatment gets rid of the redness just because once you've unclogged your pores, the irritation goes away.

I know that the demodex colonies are hard to get rid of completely, but if one were to use a strong enough AHA, I wonder if that would also kill the mites. I mean, a 20% Glycolic Acid is fairly strong. If it dug deep enough, it makes you wonder what effect that would have on the mite.
