Recently I've been absent from the forums for a while, but I've always kept my eye on SirDuckles and her Sea Buckthorn Treatment. She's been having great success and has encouraged many to try, including myself.

Anyways moving on, I don't have a whole lot of time tonight to get this thread up and running so I'm going to keep it pretty bare for now.
But I AM going to be putting up some before pictures (and of course after pictures as I continue treatment)

I figured this thread is not only a good idea for other members here on the forums, but for myself... because if I have a group of people counting on me to test something, I will be less likely to give up on it. I feel I can do this though and for the first time about any KP treatment, I am excited.

I'll explain later WHY I believe Sea Buckthorn products might work well for mem but for now I'll give you a brief summary about my profile.

Age: 16
Gender: F
Discovered KP: About two years ago.
KP then: Backs of arms, tops of thighs.
KP now: Entire arms, entire legs, buttocks.
Ancestry: French, English, German, Irish, Scottish.
Physical description: Brown hair, green-blue eyes, freckles.
Bumps or redness: Both, most times with those ugly little white caps if I don't exfoliate
Sun or shaving irritate KP: YES.


I just recently ordered SBT (Sea Buckthorn) Tea from Home of SBT Seabuckthorn-Synonymous With Beautiful Skin
Can't quite give you the low-down about their products as I have yet to try them. They are a tad bit expensive though, to warn you.

I also just recently purchased a bar of SBT and other fruits from ebay for 2.50. It was homemade with a strong orange colour, so I was confident in it.

Moving on, here is my plan.
As a student, I receive two weeks off of school every christmas.
We are finished school Friday, December 22nd this year.

My soap is supposed to arrive no later than the 20th
And my tea is supposed to arrive no later than the 28th.
I also plan to pop out to Walmart, Shoppers or the Body Shop to try and find some SBT lotion as I no longer have any funds to spend online. At least not at this point and time.

According to SirDuckles, it takes a while for the body to fully react to the Sea Buckthorn, so I plan to start using the soap probably as soon as it arrives, maybe a day or two later. Then as soon as the tea arrives, I will start using that as well. (Apparently oral forms of SBT seem to speed up the "breakout" process which you will learn about it you visit SirDuckles wonderful SBT Treatment Guide thread!)

I figured this would be the best time for me to have my breakout. Here at home. So that when I itch and feel like im going crazy, I wont be embarrased in front of my classmates or teachers. I dont have a part time job to worry about as of right now, which also seems to be a blessing, and by the time I return to school, my flare up should have died down and I will be able to maintain my KP from there on in.

In the morning and afternoon, before and afterschool I usually have a green tea. However I think I will substitute the SBT tea for one of those spots, depending on when I like it best. I'll figure that out as I go along.

I wanted to post this thread to let you guys know that I am your regular kid, but with a severe case of KP, and i'm trying this for me AND for you guys, I know a success story always helps persuade people.

Don't refrain from trying a type of treatment because you're skeptical. If its cheap, give it a try. SirDuckles points out that if you have a reaction to the soap in about a week, it means you DO have a demodex might infestation and that the soap is working.

Might seem weird, folks. But SCARY BREAKOUT = GOOD THING.

Anyways this thread is all over the place right now, but that's okay. Im young, I'm allowed to be messy, right?

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up some AA batteries this week for my digital camera and I can take some pictures of my arms, legs. I refuse to take pictures of my butt to put up on the internet just because the internet is a very scary place sometimes, especially for someone my age.

I'm not a stupid kid, people.

Moving on, I encourage ALL OF YOU to post your skepticisms and encouragement and suggestions in this thread. Honestly, if its in any way related to SBT, just go for it; post.

I'm doing the exact same thing, I started using the soap on Thursday and hopefully by the time I get back to university any flare ups will have died down enough for me not to be horrifically embarrassed by my skin!

If this does work I'll be SO glad, I have a photoshoot in January and I won't... really be wearing much (it's nothing awful, I'm making a corset as part of my degree, and the university wants my class to pose in the corsets to put on the website) I'd just really love if my arms and legs weren't quite so... covered in red dots.

Great! This is so exciting :P

A quick update too: The soap hasn't arrived yet.. maybe monday (Yes mail comes in on Christmas Eve) If not then maybe thursday when the carriers go back to work..

My tea has come in though, and I have to say I quite like it. I've been having a cup a day since it arrived and I think I'm going to go make today's in a few minutes..

I may even keep the leaves afterward and mix them in with a lotion, just to see how that may work..

A slight update:
Well i've been drinking the SBT tea once a day and rubbing a lather of SBT + passion fruit soap on every inch of my body and leaving it on for five minutes before washing it off once a day as well.. and so I've noticed that I have more pimples popping up on my face.. i had one big one pop up on my forehead, and one was developping on my chin, but I kept them both under control with my spot treatment cream (it's a lifesaver).

I haven't changed my facial hygiene routine, and I havent changed my diet and I havent been on "woman time" nor am I close to it, so this breakout seems a little odd..

another thing I found odd was I got this HUGE sore on my left leg. It was just one pimple like.. pus block in a pore (okay i know this is gross but bear with me) but it swelled up larger than a quarter! The pores on my leg lately have become this deeper, red colored purple compared to the constant change in its appearance (sometimes they're red, sometimes they're just purple... but they've stayed in this deep purple deep red sort of state) .. Again, not sure if thats a big change or not. Ive also noticed on the tops of my thighs the kp bumps have ..come out more. Im not sure how to describe it but I've even been exfoliating more intently, so to keep it smooth, but they're more defined.

Another thing is on my arms, I have extreme redness.. and usually on my forearms it shows up in just an overall red tint. with a few red bumps mixed in with my freckles
However now I've noticed a deeper red flush going up on my forearms from further below the surface of my skin, and there are more bumps on my arms than before
im hoping this is the sign of a breakout beginning..

Again, I dont have much to work with.. the Soap im using is not 100 percent SBT, and the Tea makes my body feel incredible but Im not sure if its enough.. So I was thinking about popping out tomorrow and making a point of picking up some SBT oil.. or maybe even capsules, then breaking the capsules and mixing the oil into my favourite lotion.. or just applying some directly by means of a spot test..

I think tomorrow I'm going to do a water fast and hydrate my body.. then have the tea again.. pick up some SBT oil, try some jogging outside to get myself sweating and see how my pores react (then i'll have a hot bath and let them soak.. rub the sbt soap and oil on.. that should really let it sink in)

Im experiment with this and that as I go along, but I'll keep you posted. Ive been watching my body closely over the past week or so, but nothing too big has happened. I'm hoping the SBT oil/capsules will speed up this process.. if it is indeed a reaction process.

To be honest I can't tell whether I'm getting better/worse or what's going on! I've been using the soap for two weeks last thursday and I think that my skin feels smoother, and softer. I've not noticed much of a breakout but I've got a lot going on at the moment (I'm on my period, and I've not long come off the pill)

I'll keep using it, I really like the soap and I'd be interested to see any improvement.

I've noticed that I've gotten acne on my arms after starting the Sea Buckthorn. Whiteheads, interesting. And after I did one application on my forehead(just for smoothness as another effect), I broke out in a small rash of little pimples. Now, I don't normally get any of that on my forehead, so there is a clear correlation.

It's for the skin, and I assume it's non-comedogenic(it TREATS ACNE!), but I still got this result. And it was only in the area that I rubbed the Sea Buckthorn, specifically!

So I'm seeing the acne effect occur before my eyes.


As far as softness goes, well, the softness is tremendous on my arms, in comparison to what it was before I started. So that alone, you know, this stuff is worth using even if it isn't Demodex parasites.
