KP on face much improved by wearing foundation every day
I normally do not wear makeup, but on a recent trip I wore foundation every day because I knew that there would be pictures taken of me and I wanted to look my best. Then I noticed that the KP on my face was nearly gone and was staying that way. The only thing that I was doing differently was wearing a particular foundation every day. Since making this realization, I have continued to wear the foundation daily (there might be one day a week that I don't wear it) and the skin on my face has stayed clear.
Here is what I am currently using on my face: AM: wash with Cetaphil apply Clinique Cityblock SPF25 apply Clinique superbalanced makeup (foundation) apply Cover Girl powder (the green compact) PM: wash with Neutrogena face cream which contains salicyclic acid and gentle exfoliating beads apply Paula's Choice salicyclic acid That's it! The reason I believe it is the foundation and not one of the other things I put on my face is that there have been plenty of times in the past where I wore only the sunscreen and powder regularly, and I always use the salicyclic acid, and my skin did not clear up then. My skin is not perfectly smooth now, but without even having to exfoliate using the microdermabrasion crystals I normally use my skin is dramatically smoother than usual and the skin on my forehead appears to be shedding normally. There have been other times in the past when the KP on my face has spontaneously cleared up and then come back later inexplicably. If that happens this time, I will let you know. Right now I'm counting an entire month of having a smooth face, which is the longest period of time my face has felt smooth since....I don't know, maybe ten years ago or something. Normally I have KP on my face all over my forehead and extending down my temples to my jaw bone and sometimes the outer edges of my cheeks. |

Good for you for finding a combination that works for you! I hope others try this to see if it can help them.

Could you list what ingredients are in your foundation? That might provide some clues!

Re: KP on face much improved by wearing foundation every day
Good idea about the ingredients. I am looking at the bottle, and it doesn't list any ingredients on it. They're probably listed on the box, which I don't have anymore. Couldn't find the info on Clinique's website either or on Google. I'm going to email someone on eBay and see if they will send me the ingredient list. I wonder why they don't list the ingredients on the product itself? Yup, none of my cosmetics have ingredients on them. Argh.

Re: KP on face much improved by wearing foundation every day
No one from eBay got back to me on the ingredients. Bummer. I had a scare last week when my KP suddenly came back sometime during a 24 period. I don't know if it spontaneously reappeared or if it "grew" back over several hours. I had two theories about why it could have happened: 1, I had gone running the day before, causing me to sweat more than usual and perhaps this messed up my skin somehow, especially because I was wearing makeup when I ran and didn't wash my face afterwards, and 2, I had missed a couple of days of wearing foundation the week before. Well, I went back to wearing foundation religiously and my face cleared right back up. Amazing. It seems like I can get away with not wearing it one day a week, but two days is too much. It's kind of annoying, because I am not really a makeup person, but I'm not really complaining that I've found something that works, at least for now.

If you contact Clinique through their website, you can request the ingredient list, and they will send that to you.
