That line pretty much sums up how i feel right now. My vitamin therapy and lactic acid lotion doesnt seem to be doing anything.So once again a tried and failed method. Im not being negative IM JUST TIRED of this now.Im just gonna quit. The only lotion that didnt aggravate the kp was dermalogica hydrating lotion (which is SO expensive) so i guess i'll just use that and stop worrying about trying to improve my skin. As for tanning well im usually a deep tanner but because of the aha i've been trying out on my skin has made my skin burn instead if tan so even that option is out this summer unless i stop aha completely. About acid i cant even try microdermabrasion crystals because im in South Africa and for some reason cant set up a paypal account. Oh f this already. Im tired.

how long have you been using aha? maybe you need to use a stronger %. your not suppost to be tanning when you use aha, because your skin cant block out as much uv rays. i can send you the dermabration cristals, then you can send me however much it cost later.

can't you just send a money order to the derma bration place?

Ive searched the internet. That dermabrasion crystal website dont send outside of the US. I dont know why paypal doesnt want to accept my card because i DONT have bad credit or anything.

Keru he will send will South Africa but because of this problem with paypal that option is out too.

Maybe a stronger aha will work. I've tried Neostrata 15% for a while but that too is quite expensive here.

I want to try the crystals since i've heard it really makes a difference , and that the aha lotions will work better after dermabrasion. Its just impossible to find here.

Hi! I know how you feel. KP really sucks bad. I do feel that being a bit older ( out of my 20's) you do begin to accept things in life, one being KP. I just had a baby 9 mos. ago and had KP all over my legs like never before and worse then with my first child. What worked the first time no longer worked so I was on to a new thing. I too am currently using AHA 20% lotion since mid August. It is working! I have over the years tried lower % of AHA and they did nothing for me. I don't know what you pay for Neostrata but I know its pricey ( I used it years ago). I am currently using DCL AHA Revitalizing Lotion 20 from Greatskin.com. 15 is $12.00 and 20 is $14.00 both are 4 oz. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck in whatever you do! Kim

and ill order some cristals for me and you...ive been using the AHA for 3 to 4 weeks it is definatly exfolating., the area ive been applying it to seems smoother.....but i havent been exfolating twice a day...so i guess i cant expect it to be completely clear.
and its still early too [ a month isnt that long to be using aha]
im also going to be ordering more aha lotion. i can get that for around 15 dolars for a 4 oz bottle {20%}, is that cheaper than you can get it for?

keepingthefaith: I know what you mean, and a couple of winters ago, I told myself I was taking a "KP break."

I said I would just use soaps/lotions that were basic, fragrance-free & that I knew didn't exacerbate the KP further. I was fed up with thinking about it, concerning myself with HOW to get rid of it, etc. I just wanted a break. It was quite liberating, and a much needed thing for me to do.

The irony was, as soon as I decided to do that, I inadvertently stumbled upon a lotion that got rid of my KP (99% gone). That's another story (& another thread), though.

you should try using sugar as an exfolant instead of crystals. I used sugar last night for the first time. that was the first time i used anything other than aha for an exfolant sinse i started using the aha a month ago. after i finished exfolating with the sugar my arm felt 80-90 percent clearer. thats amazing! but this is only because i have been using the aha 20% for a month. my use of the aha 20% for a month left my arm {my experamental area} feeling about 70% clearer, then when i started using the sugar my arm felt 80 -90% clearer. and that was only after the first use.
sugar is dirt cheap and anyone should be able to get it very easy.
i put a couple of tablespoons of sugar in my hand and then rub it agianst the area. the more sugar i use the more friction im able to apply to the area, thus taking off more old skin and keritin! you should try doing this. If i keep having this kind of sucsess im going to post pictures and detalied information about what ive been doing. ive already
taken some pictures.

i dont know much about exfoliantes, but to me it seems like just pure dry suger would work the best because you can get the most friction out of it. and what could be more important than friction when your trying to remove dead skin cells and keritan.

Pure, dry sugar would feel like sandpaper. You need something to hold the sugar to the skin, plus provide other positive benefits, like the natural acids in yogurt or the soothing, healing properties of honey.

Hi - even water will hold the sugar together just don't use much. In a cup of sugar I put maybe a tablespoon or 2 of water in. Sometimes I use apple cider vinegar and a little water. enough to make a paste and then I scrub pretty much my whole body... I have not ever spent the cash to buy other crystals and I am very happy with the results I get from sugar and from epsom salts. Both are environmentally sound for my septic tank also. - BD

i just wet my arm with water then put a couple of table spoons of sugar in my hand,
and then ill rub it on to an area. it doesnt feel like sandpaper to me, it feels very mild compared to other things i used to us to exfolate.
