thanks for the reply and the offer to be a guinea pig....it is appreciated...

It is good to get an allergy test, but sensitivities are different, so it would be useful to get this test as well. I had an allergy test and tested not allergic to anything at all, but I was sensitive to 38 foods.

Keep trying to find the test, maybe a health food store like pepper did? or someone who does accupuncture...

let us know how your search goes, and your results form your allergy tests.

cheers.

I am glad your back.....,I was hoping you post again.

Thanks for posting that link to that doctors website....it makes more sense when you guys post this stuff for others to read to validate what I have been saying about food and its efffects on your WHOLE body.

Diva I really think you should be patient and take the vega test, as my teat was only 1/2hour long and tested for 138 foods and gave me candida yeast score and what supplements were suited to me.

I think why I was so successful in beating KP was becasue I knew exactly what foods were affecting me, and I eliminated them completely until I was told it was okay to eat again, and then still I would have to challenge them to make sure I didn't get a reaction.

I think my gut healed pretty quickly too because I ate no foods that aggrivated me, so my body could just start the healing proccess right away along with the supplements and friendly bacteria I was putiing back in my body.

I think that the few foods that the docotr mentioned on her site are good to avoid for now, and we all know this these are the common foods for kp'ers anyways.

dairy, especially milk, wheat, gluten, corn, sugar,....I hope I didn't miss one.

I and others have tested bad for potatoes too.

If you do avoid these foods until you get tested, it might be a good idea to eat some of these foods, the day before your test, so you get accurate results. You don't have to consume a lot, just enough to get in your digestive system.

I can understand your frustration because you already have figured out what you need to do, you just need to get tested to get started on your new journey.

good luck and let us know what happens and when you get tested, I am so curious as to what you are senstive to and your yeast score.

Ok so I talked to my parents and they are willing to do this. You said the doctor couple aren't back until May, but can you give me a phone number for their place? Thanks so much.

Hi welcome back divaspice.

Monchichi100 hi welcome to the forum, looking forward to reading your results.

A little update of my own have been sticking to my diet its been a whole week now and my skin looks great, I mean general face etc, its like Im glowing I look really healthy and so many people have commented on it, as for my KP it does seem to be clearing up on my thighs its almost non existent and on my arms if you look at it normally it looks the same but upon closer inspection there are patches of clear skin, its not as bumpy and even though it is still red its not as vibrant, its just motivated me more to stick to the diet. On the bad side I appear to have caught a really bad cough Im praying the diet and cough are not related though lol.

Personally I think braces are adorable and cute and begged my mum to let me get some, I never needed them and was the only kid in my class without them I felt like a freak. My sister just got hers off and looks great and shes 20 she had them till she was 19 and looked cute with them to.

Hope everyones going well on their diets

memilton...super happy you are going to my doc, you will be in good hands...phone 604-737-0012 address #608-1788 West Broadway, Vancouver, park underground the building....good luck and please post your results, they are back May 3, The husband John will be there and will book an appointment to see Nari for the vega test...the woman who does the test is Elaine adn she is wonderful.

pepper7......wow I can't believe yo are getting some fanatastic results already, and so quickly, can you imagine in say 8 weeks what you will look and feel like?

I hope you get over your cough, elligh-leigh has it too, some maybe it is going around England?

Leprechaun....would you be willing to share your results with other forum members?, the info is invaluable to others.

Jonas24........here is what you need to do....make sure that the place who is doing you vega test knows how to treat Leaky Gut Syndrome or digestive problems.....also make sure that the test will give you a candida score, you get a score out of 30......(mine was 24) you should be no more than 10 for normal.......you won't be tested for LGS though, you will know if you have it if you have a candida score over 10, and say over 12 sensititivies to foods. Then you should be treated for that to heal your gut, cause if you don't, avoiding foods will help you but won't solve the problem for good.

BY THE WAY, EPIDURANCE JUST POSTED RESULTS AFTER 3 WEEKS ON RESTRICTIONS ON POST #44 OF TEST RESULTS FOR FOOD SENSITIVITIES, THIS WAS HER FIRST UPDATE, SHE CHEATED AND HAD AN INTERESTING REACTION LIKE I DID.

Hi Baronster et al,

Just to let ye know I'm based in Galway, Ireland. I had a vega-test booked today at a local Naturopathist in Galway today. However, didn't end up having one.

The Doctor took my medical history which breifly includes-

-kidney infections from age of 5 -14- whereby I took several courses of antibiotics,
-chest infections yearly from age of 18-22, and my latest illness
-recurring ear infections since last August- of which I have taken 7 courses of antibioctics & vivited a healer!

I told him about my symptoms:
-KP on my arms, legs & has spread a little to my tummy
-Back & shoulder pain
-a mild form of rosacea
-and several bouts of thrush. Infact everytime I take a course of anti-bioctics I get thrush
-cravings for sweet food! I easily eat 2 packs of crisps a day & chocolate!

He checked out my skin and sensitive points on my back.

After all this he came to the conclusion that I do not need a vega test. He said I have early signs of candida yeast in the bowel!

SO he's putting me on a diet whereby for the first 2 weeks I must cut out on white sugar, white flour, cheese, vinegar, ketchup, mushrooms, chocolate, biscuits, sweets and reduce my dairy intake- uing soya alternatives if possible.

I am also going to him next week for a session of acupuncture.

This consultation cost me €80 and any further will cost €70.

I told him my main aim was to cure my KP. He said he couldn't guarantee it but that it should go away or at least improve!

So I'm hoping. Will keep ye posted.

I just tried my first 'oil pulling'!! Held it in for 10 mins then gagged!! Hoping it will get easier!

hello everyone- thx for the warm welcomes. Here are my results so-far..

I just received my allergy/asthma results. Just like you baronster- I have NO allergies. kind of a bummer! I did over a 100 things ranging from environment to food and Nada-nothing

I also just came back from my dermatologist at UVA. WOW- this was the best dermatology clinic I have EVER been to. I was a new pt., got there early, and I didn't even have time to finish filling out the med. sheet before a nurse called me in. HOW efficient. Anyways, a resident looked me over first and confirmed my self- diagnosis of Keratosis Pilaris and a mild form of Ichthyosis Vulgaris and of course eczema (WoW- does it feel good to finally KNOW what I have!) Then the dermatologist came in, who was SO incredibly understanding and nice and she brought a student with her, so I had 3 people looking me over. The youngsters with all the fresh knowledge as well as her, a program professor there as well! How great is that!
Anyways, she recommended Tazorac Cream for my face (I have discoloration as well), and Salcek Cream (sp?) for my legs and arms and a steroid ointment for my eczema. I guess I am ready for a trial with these topical solutions and she said it will help so we'll just have to see!

I have my naturopath appt. on Monday. I will look around next week to see if health stores and possibly accupuncturists to see if they offer the test. Tx for the suggestions all and I'll keep you up to date on my progress..

honestly I am bit confused why your doctor didn't give a vega test?

I agree with the candida in your bowels, but really it sounds like you have LGS or digestive inflamation form all of the antibiotics you took......the yeast is just another symptom of this problem.

I also like the accupuncture as I have had this myself with good results for a pinched nerve, however why is the doctor doing accupuncture on you? is it for pain or KP? If it is for pain, go for it, if it is for KP let me know, that would be strange.

I also agree with the foods to avoid to kill off the candida, but you might ( which I believe ) have bigger issues, like inflamation in your gut.

How much is the test for you? If you had tested sensitive to over 12 foods, you also would get a yeast score to know where you are starting from, if that score was over 10, then these two issues combined mean you have LGS, and you need to treat that or your KP won't vanish, it will get better, that is for damn sure, but eliminated? I don't know.

I am not a doctor, but I feel really educated as I have asked many questions to my doctors, and read much information on these conditions as I have been helping people who e-mail me diresctly for extra help.....

so I am a little concerned.....did you ask him/her about LGS? or digestive issues........

i guess it boils down to how much time you would like to dedicate with food restrictions.......you already have some major food groups....well what if you knew every food that aggrivates you and did it all at the same time, it would be over in a few months

on the other hand, if you Kp improves, but doesn't completely go away, you might have to do the test down the road and continue on restrictions for more time?

I am sorry this sounded a little negative, I should just trust your docs diagnosis, but perhaps you could e-mail him/her and ask about the LGS and if they are concerned at all that you have this?

let me know what happens....

hey I am not surprised about the allergy test, but you shouldn't be bummed, I would be really thankful as allergies stay with you, and senstitivies for the most part go away.

I am so glad to hear you had a good experience at the dermatoligist.....my first experience was a total nightmare......she smacked my hand and said shame on you for picking at my skin. I was mortifiied to say the least.

let us know if you find the test, it would sure be interesting to see your results.

cheers

Hi Baronster

Thanks for your concern. I did feel a little disappointed myself when he told me I didn't need the vega-test. I was forceful in telling him I wanted it but he said that my KP is from my Candida Yeast.

He said he has done Vega Tests for over 20 yrs and that it will only confirm his diagnosis!

The acupunture is for lower back pain & shoulder pain which I have had for years. He said its all connected. Forgot to mention in earlier post. I also suffer from constipation, irregular periods and bloating.

I didn't even think to mention LGS. I'm quiet new to all this. I've had KP since back in secondary school, but just thought it was a celtic thing!! Alot of people in Ireland seem to have it!

I'm meeting him next week and so will ask him again about the vega test and that I would like to know my yeast score. The vega test costs €80.

Will keep ye updated............
