My doctor says babies are born with sensitivities so age has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

you must have amazing Karma.
I found a place today in San Fransisco that has a N.D. who does a 21 day detox program for another forum member. her website is www.natmedworks.com her phone number is 415-513-7270 leave a message and she will call you back......I talked to her this morning when you visit the site click on the 21 day detox program it is totally suited for exactly whatwe are trying to accomplish, she does the whole shebang, including recipes, supplements testing, everything. She also gave me permission to post her info as she helps people all across the USA and Canada..... I have no idea what she charges, but maybe someone could post if they speak to her what the cost of the program would be.....I am sure it is not the exact same for everyone as some people have more conditions to treat than others, buit I think a general idea would be helpful. She doesn't do a vega test, but she has her own methods for testing senstivities.....my doc says there is many ways to test. |

coca home test for senstivitites
this is a home test you can do for food sensitiivites.
It is called the coca test. It tests the autonomic nervous systym to stress of a food....it detects functional changes. take your pulse for a full minute......eat a small amount of one type of food, say milk for example, and then test your heart rate for one full minute......if your heart rate increases by 4 beats or more per minute you are sensitive to that food. do not eat something like ice cream, becasue that is dairy and sugar. test only one food group at a time. good luck.....let me know what your results are. |

sugar addicts
after SkinE gave me that link today I spoke to my doctor to see if they had that product. I don't know if ot os the same stuff, but I went there I tried it myself.
you put it on your tongue and when you eat something sweet you can't taste the sweetness so it makes it not enjoyable.....it is very bitter, but familiar, and not too unpleasant. I wrote down the name of the product it is in and eye dropper bottle. Gymnema Sylvestre compund.....apparently it is a herb. They also told me that liquid Chromium (not capsules) will completely take away sugar cravings with a huge success rate. My mom gets back from Vegas on Sunday, so now she has no excuse not to go. Thanks SkinE, i didn't think of this before, I like the dialogue with you guys as I am learning right along with you, and I like to share information so we all can benefit. Isn't that why we are here in the first place? To share information. i want so bad very every single one of you to achieve good health and skin as I did, if we can all share information and support each other in a positive way, I believe that we can all get amazing, permanent results. ![]() |

castor oil packs
I was thinking about the sharing the information comment I just made.
My doctor is helping me help punxroxprincess, and gave me a home remedy that is very, very inexpensive that helps with your spleen, liver and kidney function. If you have any stagnation or your organs have been toxic for some time, you can do something called "castor oil packs" just google and they have very easy instructions to follow. She says that she has had patients with inflamed livers do this remedy everyday for months for about an hour a day, that have totally reversed their conditions as they were so bad they could not even take any supplements or medications as their liver could not handle it. i understand that this is not KP stuff, but I think some people who are on this site are suffering from more than one condition, and this could be usefull to someone. |

Hi all, got a cool suntan so my KP is basically non existent but I know all of that will change as soon as the tan fades, havent had wheat in two weeks and noticed an improvement in my skin especially my legs but as Iv said before the KP on my legs comes and goes does anyone else get that? Struggling very much with the dairy side as most of the meals here contain some kind of cheese product so even when I ask for food wothout dairy it inevitably ends up have dairy in it. Iv started taking milk thistle its amazing apart from completely stopping hang overs it detoxes the liver and helps the stomach digest foods etc its truly great and I urge everyone to try it for a few weeks you will really see results.
My mum is trying to be supportive but she´s not really getting it and just thinks Im being a bit of a drama queen so Im kind of struggling along, i just dont want to be cutting out some foods and find out in a week that im not sensitive to it but am to the ´healthy´foods im eating. I wish I could just take the test today and be done with it. Good news today though I wore a sleeveless dress and was walking past a restaurant when I heard a waiter say ´mamma Mia that is a beautiful woman´ I looked around and there was just me with my Kp arms on display being called beautiful. I can tell you its made my month especially as I had eaten inadvertantly a lot of cheese the night before and my skin was not so great this morning. Good Luck all I love reading everyones progress and solutions. |

Baronster,
Thanks for the note about post #243. I'm having a busy day, but as soon as things slow down, I'm going to try it. Where did you hear about this? Do you think it's fool-proof -- in other words, the results are very sure? kebod |

Hi just wondering if you think this would work for someone who has not just developed it, as i have had the version known as Ulerythema Ophrygenes pretty much since i was born constantly being told it was just a phase and now at 20 i have almost resigned myself to having it forever i have literally tried everything some extremely unpleasant treatments including a strong course of steroids which my doctor at the time thought would be beneficial...it wasn't. I'm just wondering if food sensitivities could really be the root of my condition.

Baronster,
I tested my heart for dairy, before milk I had 92/min, then after I drank some my heart was 100/min. Is that a sign I have a sensitivity? My mom is a little skeptical about evrything i'm doing and just thinks that your heart rate changes by a couple of beats eveytime you take it or something like that. So if I am sensitive then I guess tomorrow will be day 1 *sighs* -Thanks Jewwules |

Coca Test
Baronster,
Here is a link to a site that explains fully how to do the Coca Test: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201...oser08apx.html It's best to do this first thing in the morning, so I will wait until tomorrow to start the testing. This is very interesting. After two weeks of following the anti-inflammation diet, I'm pretty much into the routine and all I really miss is bread, since I can't get alternative bread, like spelt bread here. I have lost a few pounds, which I can't really afford to do -- I weigh about 102 now at 5'4" -- but I think the weight loss has leveled off. I'm eating lots of omega oil foods, like walnuts, ground flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, avocado, tinned sardines, and olive oil on everything, as they are higher in calories, and will help me keep weight on. My breakfasts alternate between oatmeal with soy milk, toasted amaranth with soy milk, and scrambled organic eggs. My lunch is always a huge green salad with walnuts, avocado, and an olive oil vinaigrette, dinner is always steamed vegetables or a cream of vegetable soup. Snacks are walnuts, rice cakes with hummus, unsweetened coconut milk or "green fudge" (for recipe, see post # 797 on the "Cured at Last" forum. I'm using stevia as a natural sweetener for my oatmeal. I'm drinking 2 quarts of water a day, sometimes go to bed hungry, but all-in-all I feel very well. I'm not a good test case for the sensitivity diet re:KP, because my bumps were already diminished by about 95% with oil pulling. The last 5% has been stubborn. But today, after 2 weeks on the anti-inflammation diet, I'm down to maybe 1% of bumps (I never had the redness). And the annoying, constant throat clearing is almost non-existant. kebod |

Bread
kebod, I've been studying up on replacement grains for wheat as I miss bread, too. I get conflicting info on spelt (love spelt bread): some sites say it contains gluten, others say not. Oats apparently do not have gluten but are frequently grown near wheat and processed in the same facilities as wheat, so they may contain some wheat/gluten. Two grains I found interesting and will soon place orders for are teff and montina. Looks like I'll need guar gum or xanthan gum to keep the bread from being overly dense. Lots of good recipes online.
Thanks so much for the link to the coca test! :-) |

Shellim4: I never had a sweet tooth, so I never asked before yesterday what you could do about it. The bitter herb you would place on your tongue before eating and you can still taste food, but sugar doesn't register so it makes it pointless. My doctors prescribe the liquid Chromium, I don't know if you can get that it health food store? he said tablets don't have the same effect as liquid, I suspect she would presribe a dosage in the morning, but I'm not sure, I will let you know about my mom though, becasue she has promised me she will go and get tested, and she will defintely need these products to survive her cravings.
pepper7: I've heard good things about milk thistle.......I know it's hard when the parents don't really support you, they think it's silly, but as I said, who is going to look silly in the end? Pepper I can't wait for your results, do they give you a yeast count? I think that will be important for you. welcome back. Kebod.......thanks for that link........I think it would be wise for me to do this as I know which foods I am sensitive to, so I will try tommorrow, with foods I know I am not sensitve to, and then I will try some milk, and the next day corn and I will post my results to confirm that this indeed works. thanks for that recipe it sounds delicious, and your diet sounds so healthy, your body must love you. skipping cat: I am going to google your condition and see if it is an autoimmune disease (where the body is attcking itself) and I will get back to you later today. Jewwules: I am going to do this test over the next couple of days, and post my results, I already know what I am and am not sensitive to. Kebod linked a website that describes exactly how to do the test. just above......I know your mom is skeptical about this,(my mom was too) but eventually once you find out what foods are aggrivating and your body starts to heal, and you generally feel better, both of you will be amazed at your results. |
