Baronster have you had any KP since you reintroduced the foods back into your diet?

Claire, I have the opposite effect with retin A it does nothing for me at all so Im giving it up before I have no skin left lol I was also reading bad things about the VEGA test but Im getting mine done at a really cheap price I mean Ive spent more on shoes so Im just going to get it done, plus Im also going to get the ALCAT done once Iv saved up and going to compare.

Also I cant believe I havent mentioned this before but when Im feeling particularly embarrassed about my arms I use Fade Out Cream by Skincare solutions, its like a concealer made from herbs and stuff that fades the redness on your arms and legs it wont do anything for the bumps but makes it look a bit better and evens out the skin, it suits most tones. Its available from a british shop called boots not sure if you can get it overseas though but its worth a go.

I was wondering what anyone thought about epilight? its used for acne, rosecea etc and gets rid of it. I met a woman who had terrible rosecea and now looks amazing would it work with KP? I went to have a consultation about it when I was supposed to have my ALCAT and she said the KP could be gotten rid of with the Epilight but may come back. Has anyone tried it?

Sorry for all the questions Im in a Q and A mood today!

Ive joined this board after reading your message!!!
I have a 20 month old son.
He was diagnosed with a milk allergy at the age of 12 weeks.
We have tried him back on cows milk lots of times but with no luck his symptoms keep coming back ....the dr;s told me he has eczema....although i think he has some i believe he may have KP! i had never heard of it before reading your post!!
He has a bumpy red rash on his arms and legs also his face is very red and bumpy and very dry...it flares up worst at different times! (usually after chocolate)at this present time he is back on cows milk and has been for four months.....im wondering after reading your thread that the milk allergy may be the cause of this (possibly) KP!
Im now going to put him on a completely milk free diet (again) and see if the symptoms disappear!

To Sam

I think it would be wise for you to read this thread, there is so much information and links to other websites about the condition I was actually treated for called leaky gut syndrome that was causing my KP, the symptoms are the food senstivites and the Kp and other stuff.

I know it is a lot of reading but I think it would be worth it.

i had a week before my vega test so I researched it on the net, and that quackdoctor is one of the first ones I read.

I think they are trying to warn people of people who misuse this and tell people it will cure their cancer and so forth.

There is nothing to be afraid of, it is not going to harm you in any way.

It is just measuring energy and frequency that is all.

I don't think it is so quacky that people from different continents are getting the same common foods, DAIRY... WHEAT...GLUTEN...etc

just wait till other people post their results, I bet you it will be the same stuff....dairy,wheat,gluten,

apparently we (meaning KP) do not have the enzymes to digest this food, and it can lead to digestive problems like the the LGS I had.

Most websites say that if you have more than 12 sensitivites to food, and more than a score of 10 on yeast, you most likley have LGS, in which case, lotions, creams, and whatever won't solve your skin problems, only healing your gut while avoiding these foods will.

If you have troubles reading the thread for translation reasons e-mail direct and I will answer your questions

Hello Pepper,

When I re-tested and foods had cleared I was allowed to introduce one at a time, in case I got a reaction, which I didn't

I try to eat pretty normal now, but Gluten , milk and corn are in so many things, that if I eat a couple days of these kinds of foods, I will get a few bumps here and there, but then I just totally avoid those foods and the bumps are gone in a few days.

It's hard sometimes becasue I go for dinner every Tuesday and Thursday at my friends house, and she always seems to have something that is off limits, for example she had a soup that gobs of corn in it and heavy cream, and I still ate it.

The next day I had a few bumps on my lower arms, that went away after about 3 days of not eating those foods.

When i was super strict I gave copies of my test so she knew what foods not to cook for me.

I would hold off on all dairy for your son for a good period of time and examine him weekly to really get a good persepctive on how his skin may improve.

You may also want to consider not giving him wheat/gluten products.

Rachel18 reccommends going to the health store and get childrens
acidophilus as this will help him as well.

let us know how it goes...

To Ida

thank you for posting your results, we appreciate that.

I guess I am not surprised to see MILK, and wheat on your list.

You obviously do not have LGS, as you have few senstivities, so i think it will be interesting to see if your Kp clears from avoiding these foods, and fixing your vitamin, enzyme definciency.

Keep us posted, and thank you

I was also very surprised that I don't have more sensitivities than that. However the "tester" told me that I have big issues in my gut area. He told me I have molds and I am dehydrated so I got big digesting problems. (The digestive problems are also due to the lack of enzymes, which mean I cannot break down carbs, sugar and some other things). He told me this can result in tiredness, headaches and skin problems. - Which are all symptoms I'm suffering from.

So even though I don't have LGS, I got problems in my gut. I think this is very interesting and I'm very excited to see how thing is in a couple of months. I will keep you posted

-Ida

I am so glad you went then, thanks for the details, I think it will be helpful to other forum members considering doing this.

I hope Cammi goes to see your doctor, I would be very interested to see her results too, as I have read some of her posts from other threads, so I know her background in nutrition.

about quackwatch

I don't want to start controversy or any arguements about information on the web, but I would like to point out a few things that are bugging me.

About the quackwatch website, that a few people have mentioned, and therefore are skeptical about the vega testing.

Take an hour to really look at that website. For intance who is Stephen Barrett M.D.???????

Well I found out he is a retired pyschiatrist who has won many special awards certificates, including from the FDA for fighting nutrition quackery.

Who is the FDA? the federal drug admisinstration, and they are not happy with naturopathic medicine because they are not prescribing DRUGS.

If you navigate this site, look at what they say about natural medicine as a whole, they say it is all completley bogus, and he mentions this FDA more than several times.

They actually say that every single method that is not done by western medincine and therefore not controlled by the FDA, is total quackery, EVERYTHING, every test, every remedy, guess what vitamins are quackery too?

This retired Pychiatrist also runs 22 other websites.......they also make their money from commissions from selling products that are linked to their website.

When you google "vega test" the first website that comes up is skeptical about the Vega test. It is the home page for "Bon Secours Health system"

they have lots of nasty things to say, however if you keep going to the bottom of the page, you find out that they say who they are:

"Bon Secours Health system adheres to the ethical and religious directives of the catholic church and does not provide or support ANY medical procedures or advise which is inconsistent with these directives.

So like I said I don't want to debate anyone, all that I ask is if you are reading information on the net, and it looks offiicial, keep reading who and ask yourself who is funding this site, someone who is really looking out for you?

or looking out for big business?

Results from my Vega test - for those of you who just got on board - I live in the same city as Baronster - I ran off to get my test done at the same place (by Elaine) as soon as I heard about this so I'll start my new diet by weaning off the foods that I have a sensitivity to and see what happens. There were some interesting surprises. Having done a candida diet a long time ago it will be similar but there are still a few things that I registered a high sensitivity to that could easily fall in between the cracks of just following a candida diet.
I tested very sensitive to soy beans and coffee. I'm sensitive to vegetables like spinach and potatoes, green peppers and cauliflower, corn and flaxseed of all things - I was taking about a tablespoon a day to help my kp!
I'll report my process from time to time, say every couple of weeks - my candida count was high too so I guess we all just have to watch what we eat. For me after years of this skin condition I don't think avoiding a few foods is a big deal. (Eating out can be tough though)

Thank you Baronster for saying what I think quite alot of us have been thinking.

Update on my pursuit of the "Vega" test/electrodermal testing: I'm scheduled to have a visit with a care team at Bastyr's Clinic in a couple of weeks when I am back from a trip. I'm also going to check out that Anti-Inflamation book and read up on LGS, i've had lots of digestive issues over the past couple of years so i'm wondering if that's not the root of my issues as well. I spoke with my mom the other day and she said that as a baby and as a young child I had food sensitivity issues which were thought to contribute to my asthma and kp among other things. Milk allergy/sensitivity is what it was thought to be attributed to...seems that ends up being a common one especially for little ones since milk can make up such a large portion of the diet compared to other foods. I'd not mentioned my increasing severity of my KP, etc. to her, wish I would have years ago, just never thought about it so I am optimistic that I will have great positive results with following a similar course as you have. I'll keep you all posted.
