OK Hi again..I've been reading some of your posts and doing more research online..I also talked to my agent on the phone because she is into alternative medicine..I found out that Omega-3 is very helpful in getting rid of redness and it is anti-inflammatory. I've been eating a diet high in Omega-3s and I will keep you posted on how it affects my redness..Somewhere I read mixing ground flaxseeds with oatmeal makes it go away..good to know because I just bought flaxseed bread and have been eating it with Smart Balance Lite butter (made with olive oil and flaxseed oil) and also eating it with pure olive oil (i've gotten used to the taste now)..
here are some good links for Omega-3 info and anti-inflammatories long articles: http://www.healthy.net/scr/Column.asp?Id=632 http://www.healthy.net/scr/Column.asp?Id=649 quick info + a good list http://www.metabolismadvice.com/anti_inflammatory_food/ some other links http://nutrition.about.com/od/dietsf...flamfood_2.htm http://www.azcentral.com/health/diet...tiimflamm.html http://lifegetinit.fitdv.com/new/art...html?artid=500 http://www.inflammationfactor.com/ (some of these websites have very good information but are very commercialy) a list of food high in Omega-3 and very Anti-inflammatory :-wild fish (baked in oven using only olive oil) -flaxseed -olive oil -fish oil (this you can get in pill form but I'd rather stick to getting Omega-3 from food not supplements) -sardines -carrots -brussel sprouts -Heart to Heart (a cereal by the company Kashi , its kind of like Cheerios but soo much better tasting and a million times healthier) -Smart Start cereal -Pecans -Strawberries -Red Pepper -Orange -Green tea Foods high in Omega 6 balance (which is bad) and also very inflammatory -brown rice -milk -mango -eggs -soy cheese -barley -jam -banana -a lot of other foods.. basically..you can eat foods that are inflammatory as long as you add a food that is very anti-inflammatory such as fish or anything on the anti-inflammatory list because it balances out your omega-6/omega-3 ratio I will keep you all posted on how eating a lot of the Omega-3 affects my Keratosis pilaris! |

I’ve been taking omega supplements for a few months now. For me, the improvement of my KP was noticeable in the first week. I have tried a lot of different creams and other products to treat my KP, but the omegas have definitely given me the most dramatic result so far. I don’t think it’s a “cure”, but Omegas really help, and I hope more people try supplementing with them.
