Remedies while breastfeeding?

Does anyone know of any remedies that are safe to try while breastfeeding?

I haven't been officially diagnosed with KP - no money for a dermatologist - but I'm convinced I do have it, from comparing pictures online with my own skin. I've had the bumps since I was a pre-teen, and they have gotten worse and spread since I became pregnant a couple of years ago. I've had a second child since then, and am breastfeeding, so I really need to have something that won't negatively affect my son.

My skin is insanely dry even without the KP. I think this is one of the main reasons I have had a problem with KP. I want to get it fixed, or at least on the road to progress, soon, as scratching at the bumps is becoming a compulsive problem. I have it on my legs, upper and lower; arms, again upper and lower, but only mildly on my lower arms; butt, and it's working its way into my chest and bikini area.

Any advice? I had heard of amlactin before, but I read it's not safe while pregnant or breastfeeding. All I've been doing so far is exfoliating with a scrub in the shower, or using a sloughing cream on my legs. I really have liked the sloughing cream, but it's obviously not a long term solution by any means.

Hi Ces I am exclusively breastfeeding my son and have for the past 3 months been oil pulling with great results. I would suggest that is worth a try especially for dry skin as it moisturises from within. Also it is completely natural and very cheap. I was given a prescription for a urea cream by a derm but my own doctor would not sign off on it as it was not suitable for pregnacy and breastfeeding and the derm knew I was breastfeeding. If you can read through the now very long oil pulling thread for more details, and you can read more detail of my routine by clicking on my name to find my thread 'trying the all natural approach'.

I'm not sure if I could stomach having the oil in my mouth. How long did it take you to get used to it?
