Hey guys!
After gaining some insightful info on this board, I've decided to start a thread on various KP EXPERIMENTS you have been trying. I personally have gained bits and pieces of info from many of you and would like to dedicate this post to any new members who would like to gain the same info! ![]() So please feel free to post ANYTHING you have tried to treat your KP (good and bad) so we can all help one another.. pictures, testimonies, facts, myths, background, etc... Please try to be detailed, courteous, and most of all have fun. ![]() And if you have "landed" on this thread by accident, I want to encourage you to post because we may learn from you too! ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "KP_GIRL's experiment" one week in the making... morning routine: -Oil Pull with 100% organic expeller pressed (unrefined) sunflower oil by HAIN (you can get this at any natural foods store)for 20-25 minutes. I use two cap fulls (about 1 tablespoong) and it has a light taste I enjoy. i try to swish and "pull" through my teeth as much as possible, however slowly. I also use my tongue to "block" it from being swallowed, then I expel in the toilet. Then I use a tiny amount of mouth wash just to clear it out, followed by drinking 2 cups of water. -Apply a generous amount of 20% AHA revitalizing lotion made by Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories (Greatskin.com) on my arms, legs, buttocks. At first it seems "sticky" but will soon dry! - I try to drink plenty of water throughout the day and eat healthy (fruits, veggies, whole grains, natural multi vitamin, soymilk etc...). night routine: -Oil pull with organic pure extra virgin coconut oil by E***OLD (you can get this at any natural foods store) for 20-25 minutes. Because coconut oil has a high melting point, it's solid and i have to "mouth" it until it melts. I use a small amount I scoop with my fingers, and although I want to swallow it beause it tastes so good, I expel into the toilet. I then drink 2 cups of water. -Apply a generous amount of 20% AHA revitalizing lotion made by Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories (Greatskin.com) on my arms, legs, buttocks. At first it seems "sticky" but will soon dry! -I'm also going to add an epsom salt soak one a week, it couldn't hurt. ![]() problem areas: ![]() KP on arms, legs, buttocks with lots of redness and irritation! results: "Stick a fork in me, I'm done!!" ![]() This week has been eye-opening and hopeful! NOTHING, I mean NOTHING has EVER EVERRR worked for my KP, ever! I thought I was the only person in the world suffering from this and now I see that it's not just me! I live in Florida and I tend to wear pants even in the scorching summer because the KP on my legs are so severe, it's like they have a mind of their own! Regular lotions irritated the bumps, scrubbing made them worse. I went so far as to put concealer on the really red bumps on my legs! Needless to say, that's not so practical... After stumbling on this site about 2 weeks ago, I stayed up all night reading anything I could get my eyes on, and I landed on "Oil Pulling". Having a medical background I was skeptical but suffering from KP my whole life I wanted to be a believer! It's been one whole week and I do see results. My teeth feel "cleaner" (as in I feel like I just stepped out of a dentist's office) and the OP helps me wake up in the morning. The AHA lotion has smoothened the texture somewhat, it just "feels" better. Because other lotions have irritated my skin, I haven't applied lotion for years and now it feels my skin is drinking the AHA revitalizing lotion! Here's an analogy on my experiment: If the red bumps are a lion and the lotion is the lion tamer, then dammit the the lion has been tamed! I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I really think this is working!! My skin is less irritated and the bumps are "smoother". My skin feels more supple and refreshed, not irritated and bumpy. I just feel better about myself and now I know that it takes a lot of effort to control my KP (it is possible). The redness is still there but I read that the redness is the last to "calm" down. Nothing I'm doing can be harmful to me so I'm willing to continue this regimen (with tweaks) for a long time! I'm willing to take what I can get at this point. I just "feel" better about myself and that speaks volumes, considering how depressed I've been from my KP my whole life!!!!!!! ![]() I did take "before" pictures but I don't have the courage to post just yet... I will post "before" and "after" pictures in about a month. And thus my experiment continues... anyone else? ![]() |
