And if so, how? I figure he's a little young to suffer from hypertension in the first place... I happen to suffer from it (diagnosed a few months ago) and take medication for it. I've never seen any link between that and my skin, though.

As for the blotches, mine are dark black rather than red, since I have black skin. And no, I haven't found a solution for that at all. I've noticed that the bumps receded quite a bit, again though once I started back on the minocycline (the ones on my stomach anyway - they're almost flat). The kp on my thighs, legs and arms is another story, although it's not as severe there and I could always live with it. The trunk area was always my biggest concern. I don't have it on the face. I thought I was starting to develop it a couple of weeks ago but it disappeared (I think it might have been a temporary side effect from the oil-pulling I started).

Hi Freedom68,

Thanks for your imput. My son doesn't have hypertension, however the drug he is taking in theory is supposed to reduce the redness of the face etc. It is a low dose prescription, however I haven't seen any change what so ever. I did ask at the time how long it would take to see any marked difference and was told that it would be pretty much immediate, and if it did work, it would be an ongoing medication. The upside is that at least we have tried something. I really think the answer to his face at least it laser treatment. His blotches have been pretty bad at the moment, and I think too that it is a secondary problem. It doesn't look like ecezema to me, it appears when the dreaded itching starts, and goes just as suddenly - mainly on his trunk, arms and legs.

SaintsFan,

I'm not sure if I can help you with the red face. My son's is pretty severe, and considering getting laser treatment. We are pretty new at this as well, however if you read through some of other posts, it may be helpful.

My son also suffers worse in hot and humid weather, however he still gets it in coller temps.

Thanks for your kind message. My son suffers exactly the same with hot and humid conditions, and in the cold weather too, sometimes worse than in the heat. Funny enough, we wre only discussing that today. We are thinking of moving to a kinder climate because the way things are going, this is going to be a life long thing. He needs a life, instead of being stuck indoors all the time. Seeing the specialist in a week or two and see what happens. Thanks again for your support. Cheers.
