The other day I was at the drugstore and picked up a bottle of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula for Dry, Ashy Skin. I got it more on a whim than anything else. It's got cocoa butter, shea butter, AHA and BHA. I put some on after my shower this afternoon, and about 8 hours later, I can really, really feel and practically see the difference. I've got pretty severe KP in my arms, and moderate on my thighs and butt. So far I've just used it on my arms, but if it continues to amaze me like this, I'm going to start using it everywhere else. My arms feel so smooth! The only downside to it is that it smells positively wretched. But at this point, I'd rather see results than smell nice, haha.

I've also been using Dove Nutrium body wash in the shower, and exfoliating with just one of those mesh poufs every day. Some nights I use Salex, and some I don't. I don't like how all my clothes stick to it, and I frequently forget about it, which is why I don't use it every night.

thats great! Its fantastic when ppl find stuff that works. It's hard to believe - you saw a difference after 8 hours? I'm defenitely going to try it, although im trying so much stuff right now already. I supose one more thing can't hurt. When you say its worked do you mean for texture or redness? I only have red dots you see so smoothing things arn't any good lol

I was also super surprised to see a difference after such a short time. And unfortunately, right now it only seems to work on the bumps. But that might just be because on my arms, I don't have too much redness. I'm going to start using it on my thighs and butt too, where the KP is mostly redness and not bumps.

I think for now what I'm going to do is continue to use the Salex at night, then the Palmer's in the morning after I exfoliate in the shower. I'll keep you guys updated and let you know if it continues to work, or if it was a one time fluke of a chance.

i'll try it when i can it just might interfere with the aha lotion i'm going to use. Maybe if it works on redness i'll give it a try.

I used cocoa butter for a week and it made me break out 100 times worse. Cocoa butter is full of oil so it clogs the prores really badly. Even my derm. said that it was bad for Kp sufferers.

Dont let me stop you, though. If it works for you then definitely keep using it and keep us updated on your improvements! I started using Keri lotion and it works great for me. Everyone has different skin, so everyone can use the same products and get dratiucally different results. Good luck!

palmers aha formula stinks really bad i couldnt take the smell so i quit using it

I agree, it smells totally disgusting. But I'm getting used to it, and if it helps my KP at all, I can put that aspect aside

Im happy that it works for you Palmers is a very good i love their normal cocoa butter formula it makes you smell chocolate icing. But the aha / bha smells too gross. I guess you got to do what you got to do to get rid of the kp so even if smelling like off chemicals is worth having clear and beautiful skin.

My hat goes off to you for using it and i hope that it clears up your kp.

What is in it that makes it smell so bad? Glycolic Acid (AHA) has no smell at all really. Maybe it is the BHA or some other ingredient?

UGH. I don't think I could use a bad smelling product, even if it did cure KP. I ordered this exfoliating moisturizing cream that was supposed to be the best, and it smelled like vomit mixed with garbage and peppermint. I got nauseated just from putting it on a small area. Then I threw it all away. ($36 I'll never get back... )

No, a foul-smelling product is a dealbreaker for me.
