Cool Redness On Face...

Hey everybody! Let me start out by introducing myself. I'm sixteen, and a junior in high school. I have KP on my arms and legs, but it's not really that bad. however, I also have it on my face, and the redness on my lower cheeks seem to be getting worse and worse. It is starting to spread onto my chin and the area right in front of my ears. My dermatologist said that the cause was blood vessels that have come to the surface of my skin, and he suggested that I get some laser surgery to "zap" the blood vessels. Unfortunately, it did not do anything except shrink my parents' wallet.

Has anyone found a good solution for getting rid of the redness? I read about oil pulling, but does that really work? I read alot about the instances where it did work, but I'm sure there are also instances where it doesn't.

Also, has anyone found a good way to get rid of the bumps on the skin? They aren't that severe, but they still are annoying... The dermatologist gave me some Urea Lotion to use, but it was ineffective.

Thanks, Jessa

Hi Jessa - can you remember the name of the laser that was used?

Ummm, I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure. I tried Googling it, and nothing seemed to come up. But I do know that the procedure was a really long word that started with TELE-. And it left little purple bruises where the laser hit.

Hi - Just checking as not all lasers are the same. The main laser recommended for redness is the 'pulse dye laser' - these are mostly made by Candela - I think their model is called 'The Vbeam pulse dye laser'.

I have had two treatments done with this and it has helped to make the redness fade. The most recent one using the latest model laser worked the best. My skin still requires further treatments but it has helped.
