Glutathione for KP?

Hi, newbie here. I've been lurking for quite some time now but only felt the urge to open an account today because I can't find what I am looking for. Has anyone ever tried taking glutathione pills? It's supposed to make your skin better (and with higher doses, lighter) and I was wondering if this could help KP? Gluta is a very strong antioxidant. I hope you can help. TIA!

hi monica -
I've done a lot of research on glutathione, and supplementation with N-acetyl-cysteine (or NAC, available at any health food store) actually ups your glutathione levels more than taking glutathione itself. I've been taking NAC daily for a couple of years and it hasn't helped my KP (all over my legs), but the interesting thing is that I haven't had a cold or flu in two years. Check the internet for information on NAC, and you'll find some interesting stuff. Again, I don't recall anything skin-related with glutathione - mostly lung and liver health.
Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response! Glutathione is popular in the Asian country I live in where people are obsessed with whiter skin. I guess mmy thought process was that if it had a side effect of whitening skin, it must do something for the tiny spots/scars KP leaves behind.

Is there anyone else who has opinions about this?

By the way, just wanted to share that I've been rubbing virgin coconut oil on my arms the last couple of days. The KP hasn't disappeared but seems to behave better. I live in a tropical country so my oil is in liquid form, I just rub it in like I would do with any other body oil.

I am also taking Gluthatione. I don't know if it has done something with my KP already.

I don't even know if there's a relevance hehe.
