Exclamation Possible treatment

i have family in mexico and i was recently there, i have kp by the way on my chest, back, and arms. when i was there one of my aunts noticed my kp, she told me my uncle had it too and that every night she would squeeze some lemons in a bowl and apply the lemon juice to wherever he had kp, put a shirt on him, go to sleep and wash it off in the morning. she repeated that every night and she said it went away, FOREVER. also when i was there i met some other lady that i had no relation to and she told me the same thing, just put lemon juice every night. i havn't tried this yet but i will and i will keep all you posted if there is any difference. Also, like 5 yrs back my mom was going to a really good cosmetic surgery place in miami where she was getting chemical peels on her face. one day she decided to take me there to see if it worked on the kp i had on my cheeks and it removed it. the woman there tried it once on a part of one of my arms but it didnt make a diff. but atleast i dont have it on my face anymore. i would like to know if anyone has heard about any of this or if anyone has any questions.

do you let it dry on your skin before going to bed or just put a shirt over wet/damp skin? Also, after it went away did she keep applying it? I might give it a go. I'll let you know how it goes, but my kp isn't that bad right now, since I've been taking Omega 3-6-9 tablets.

wow if this works I will totally try it...are omega 3-6-9 tablets better than co-q10 or other tablets. I have SEVERE KP. like its everywhere and red all over. sometimes its much worse than others. esp in the cold its like just awful and unbearable. but in the summer its a little better. and when im working out its sometimes practically gone for a split second. I just am tryign everything. LUSH miracle cream (i think its called that) its incredible. but i am willing to try ANYTHING.

Dtotheanielle50-- If you're interested in the omega 3 check out the topic titled "I've hit a breakthrough please read" Ive Hit A Breakthrough Please Read!!!

I use it to help my body absorb vitamin a. I should mention that my kp isn't that bad (upper arms, face, butt, back of thighs) but that I have noticed a diffference since taking omega 3 with a multi vitamin, and then scrubbing kp areas with a facecloth in the shower. I've been on it since march or April. It was getting better when i'd take 3 tablets a day, but I noticed since dropping to one or somedays none (i just keep forgetting) that some of the bumps and redness are coming back a bit. Didn't really help the redness on my face that much. I only noticed after a month or so I think that kp was improved.

I'm interested to see if the lemon juice thing works---I'm into simple solutions because my kp doesn't bother me that much. My stance is, if I do this simple thing and it goes away great, but if it doesn't or just 'improves' thats fine too. kp has only been annoying for me.

lush

go on Lush.com. it's just a calming cream thing and it makes it so much less red when you apply it and it makes it smooth. There is also this shower "smoothie" thing I believe its like almond something (it doesnt really smell like almond) and that's really good too. There's a bunch of stuff. It's gentle and all natural.

That looks like a very interesting idea. I certainly have never heard of it... but it couldn't hurt to try!
I only have KP on my arms and it isn't that bad, but it's still humiliating at school when I wear t-shirts, so usually I just try to cover it up with a long sleeve shirt.
Only today I read on this site that what I have isn't acne, it's KP. I couldn't imagine how hard it must be to have bad KP... I hope everyone finds their cure!

zinny (and anyone else)

There isn't really a cure for it but you can grow out of it. I have it really bad. like its awful. BUT you CANNOT let it stop you from doing stuff. Like wearing short sleeves. Trust me its stopped me from swimming and wearing shorts and stuff. I'm tired of it. Honestly, just wear the short sleeves. Most people aren't even paying attention and especially if its not that bad. Just think. It could be worse and be happy with what you have and don't let it stop you from wearing short sleeves. It's honestly not worth it.

oh and acne like medications like salicylic acid or something also helps. B/c it makes it exfoliate.

just don't let it ruin certain aspects of your life. trust me. it's not worth it at all.

I was researching this theory last night and there are loads of recommendations for using/consuming lemons for internal use to help for acne. As a lot of the treatments for acne and KP are similar it could work. There were hundreds of post from people commenting on how well it had worked in curring their acne (to varing degrees.

There solution was to squeeze half a lemon or pour 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in to about half a pint glass and mix with water (most recommended hot water). Then consume twice a day through a straw (the lemon can be damaging on the teeth or gums). They alse mention how it is good for the cleaning the system and detoxing especially for the liver!

Question for Bonethug, did you go on any glucose/wheat/dairy free diet? Did you take any supplements? Did you use any lotions? How long did it take your uncle to see results?

-Thanks Jewwules
