I think any type of oil would work as long as it is cooking (edible) oil. What type of bean oil do you have? Can you get sesame oil? Let me know if this helps you.

Great! Let me know if this works. I had to do it for 21 days before I saw an improvement with the KP. I live in Mexico where I don't have a great variety of oil available in the stores. I regularly use coconut oil and the common vegetable oil (safflower, sunflower and canola blended) sold here in the stores for cooking.
I wish I had thought of a "before" photo, but when I started oil pulling, I had no idea it would help the Kp. Some people report they can't start with 2 teaspoons of oil, because it tastes too strange, so they start with 1 teaspoon for 10 minutes and work up to 2 teaspoons for 20 minutes. I didn't have this problem, since I like how coconut oil tastes. Whatever oil you use, if you don't like the taste, just try a different type of oil. Go to: http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=738 for a forum on oil pulling that may answer questions and go to: http://www.oilpulling.com/ for information on how to do the oil pulling and other info. Good luck |

I have to plead ignorance -- I don't know what kprf is -- what is it? I didn't even know what kp was until after it was healed by doing oil pulling. When I reported this healing to the oil pulling forum, the moderator told me what it was called.
I had small, raised, reddish bumps on my upper arms, buttocks and sometimes on the cheeks of my face. There was no itching, no discomfort; it was just unsightly. Sometimes I nervously picked at the bumps on my arms, not even realizing what I was doing. When I did, I would release a tiny, dry, hard white plug. Please check out the two links I included in the previous post. They may give you more information. I hope this helps. Let me know if you try it. |

Good for you!
Stefanzhou,
Sesame oil is one of the two recommended oils (the other is safflower), though people who oil pull are experimenting with almost every type of edible oil. Just don't use toasted sesame oil. My teeth are very white now. They continued to get whiter for a month; now they seem to be as white as anyone else who has had their teeth whitened by a dentist. But the most important thing (for me) is that it helps with KP. I hope you see a change for the better. http://www.oilpulling.com/ http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=738 |

I started oil pulling about 4 days ago. I am using sesame oil right now. It tastes soooooo good. Like I have a mouth full of sunflower seeds. Yummy! I read to do oil pulling on an empty stomach, too. That's why most people do it in the morning before they eat. That's what I do.

Right now I am oil pulling with coconut and canola oil. For sure the coconut oil works for clearing up KP; safflower and sesame oil are the recommended oils. I love seeing all this Oil Pulling chat -- I hope all of you find your KP gone after about 3 weeks of pulling. That's how long I did it until I realized my skin was clear.
It is important to do it on an empty stomach. Doing it first thing in the morning before breakfast is the best. If you want to participate in more oil pulling chats, or just read postings from others about this, go to: http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=738 I read the new postings there every morning, generally while I'm pulling, and usually learn something new. There you will find that hundreds of others are doing oil pulling regularly and you can read about the different oils they are trying and the different health benefits they are experiencing. All of you who are trying OP, please post again if and when you see the KP clearing up. I'd love to read your results and so would the folks on the Oil Pulling forum. |

You are all doing great
You need to find the oil that is good for you. If it makes you hurl, don't use it..:-) I want to make sure that everyone is NOT using toasted sesame oil. All the benefits of the seed are gone from the act of toasting. Actually, the expeller pressed sesame seed oil is almost tasteless. I got mine at Whole Foods. In India, they actually chew the seeds (very similar to oil pulling), but the thought of digging out all those seeds from my teeth sound painful.
The one thing about Oil Pulling is that it is easy and uncomplicated. All seed and nut oils work fine. No need to worry whether it is refined or unrefined. For me, I use only organic and unrefined, because that is what I believe in. As far as living for 150 years...well I guess we're going to have to re-group in a century or more. I'm not quite sure I want to live that long, but I'm going to continue oil pulling to the bitter end. With any luck, I'll go with a mouth full of oil. |

First of all, I have to thank both Kebod and Molly!
I've only been swishing for three days and my arms and legs are DRAMATICALLY smoother. The entire top half of my right arm is bump free. Very smooth. As I've said, I've only been swishing for three days (I've only done 3 fifteen minute sessions thus far) with 100% sesame oil and I'm not even sure I've been doing it right because it still comes out yellowy, but foamy nonetheless. My arms and legs are still unsightly, due to the red dots which are still present, though. I'm very stoked. Nothing has ever worked before (not even applying coconut oil -- hmm, might swish with that), and when I've heard of oil swishing, I was extremely skeptical. How can this method possibly help KP!? But it does, and I'm very glad I tried it. So there's my testimonial. Going to continue the swishing and post updates if my condition improves again! Try it! Try it everyone! It doesn't hurt to try, and oil is abundant! ![]() Edit: Woops, I meant oil pulling -- not swishing!! Last edited by Spot; 10-19-2006 at 04:23 AM. |

My bottle says 100% sesame oil, and nowhere on it does it say toasted. Does that mean it's untoasted? How do I tell?

My son also had a gagging response when he started. I advised him to start with only 1 teapsoon (instead of 1 Tablespoon) for only 5 minutes, and gradually increase the amount of oil and the duration. He is now able to do one tablespoon for 15 minutes. I am a small person with a small mouth -- so my dentist says -- so I only use 2 teapsoons each pull. Perhaps you will prefer sesame oil. I have never tried either, but I like coconut oil. Many people seem to have their own preference for flavor. Good luck.
