SCW,

If your walnut oil is untoasted, it will be light in color.

For me, it took 21 days to see results, with KP lessening greatly. I don't think there is a set time for how long you need to wait to see a change, but I hope you give OP at least 30 days. Please keep in touch and let us know if it helps. I hope you see good results.

Re: Oil pulling treatment

Thanks Kebod =]

Day 1

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of walnut oil for twenty minutes. My gag reflex was incredibly hard to resist – the heavy oily feeling in my mouth was horrible. The reflex lessened after about five minutes. Think I may have swallowed a tiny amount of the oil during pulling. I washed out my mouth with salt water afterwards, which nearly made me throw up. Drank one glass of water to finish.
Notice no changes.

Re: Oil pulling treatment

Hello everyone.

I had been op everyday for nearly three weeks and I did not notice a difference but when I missed op in these last three days and I noticed the bumps were raising up again. So what I mean to say is, if I op consistently for a longer period it will help. The sides of my thighes were clearing up, near my hips but the front is stubborn kp, if i keep it up I am confident it will work.

Having said that, I have been attending the gym and sitting in the sauna for 20 minutes evry other day. It could be that.

Alongside this I will apply bio oil topically. Does anyon know if it clogs pores? Can anyone suggest a moisturiser that does not clog pores???

A question: I started taking omega 3 6 9 oil supplement yesterday, dosage is one a day with or after a meal. I purchased it from holland and barrett health shop here in the UK. I am vegetarian will they be as effective? It is brand called Vertese Gelatin Free Omega Oils 3+6+9 500mg 60 capsules

What omega 3 6 9 supplements would you recommend?

Another supplement I want to give a go is Holland and Barrett - Product details for Aloe Vera Colon Cleanse

as sometimes food not passing well could leed to toxins building up inside and this affecting the skin. Should i try this?

Re: Oil pulling treatment

Day 2

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of walnut oil for twenty minutes. Again, swallowed a little accidentally. Drank one glass of water to finish. About two hours later during school my nose felt quite runny, but I assumed I was catching someone’s cold (I was pretty much surrounded by people with colds) so I don’t know if it was a result of the oil pulling.
Otherwise, notice no changes.

Day 3

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of walnut oil for twenty minutes. One glass of water to finish.
I had sports day today at school and I had to do several of the sprints and it was hot and really bright outside. And I was wearing trackie bottoms, so I overheated slightly. I got a heat rash on my tummy and my KP was redder and worse than usual.

Hi GG - I don't know what "bio oil" is but I do think that what oil works for one person may not work for the next. Similarly to the OP, depends what fatty acids a person needs most perhaps. I like almond oil very much topically, may be because of the high vitamin E content. The last 2 weeks I've been using homemade lotion with red palm oil (thick and high in A and E), macadamia oil (high in palmitoleic like sea buckthorn), apricot kernel oil, evening primrose oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil and extra vitamin E and scented with lavender and rosemary and jasmine. It is BRILLIANT for my skin. I'm planing to get some comparative photos soon it's going so well (I'm also OPing macadamia and red palm which I think works for me too) It may be all the vitamin E again which my skin seems to respond to well and maybe other components in it. If you try to make your own, kebod has posted a recipe in the ChitChat section.

You can google "comedogenic ingredients oil" to find lists of how comedogenic (clogging) certain ingredients are supposed to be.

That one looks pretty good to me for a veg capsule - if you won't take fish oil - but I would think you'd want to try to take 2 or 3 a day. Check on vitamin E recommended max amounts on wikipedia or webmd or something. Because of availability problems, I started taking a capsule of fish oil in the AM, then a flaxseed oil capsule in the evening and I recently added in evening primrose oil which I used to get the GLA in that from borage oil in a different capsule that I can't obtain anymore.

SCW - my nose runs when I OP sometimes and it's not a cold. In me it just indicates that some of my rhinitis stuffiness is clearing out. it's one of my fave things about OP, it has improved my allergic rhinitis a lot.

Caitlin - I would say in general OP shouldn't interfere unless you OP flaxseed oil or rice bran oil or another that is supposed to be hormonally active or a hormonal precursor. e.g. flaxseed has phytoestrogens which will bind to estrogen receptors and I dunno if that would throw off the pill. rice bran oil is suppsed to convert into testosterone or something like it though I think that is unproven at this time. There may be others like that but I have never heard of any of the main oils - sunflower sesame coconut - being hormonally active. check curezone or earthclinic to see if anyone else has comments.

Re: Oil pulling treatment

Hi everyone!
Sorry it took so long for me to repost here.
Been really busy with real life stuff.

Anyway, I've tried Oping again, but the maximum I could do is 8 minutes. After that, I feel like throwing up.
I'll try again tomorrow though, hopefully, it would be a better day.
Btw, I'm just wondering, if I OP, it won't have any side effects or outbreaks before the bumps and redness disappear, right?
Coz the reason I OP is that our acquaintance party is in like 2 weeks and I don't want to go with these bumps.
And if there would be outbreaks, then I think I would have to wait until after the acquaintance to start OPing?

Day 5

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of oil pulling for twenty minutes. Glass of water to finish. I’m a bit achier than normal but I think that’s because I had sports day on Tuesday, a longer-than-usual rock n roll dance class on Wednesday and three hours of tennis this morning.

Day 6

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of walnut oil for twenty minutes and finished with a glass of water. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the little patches of dry skin I always have on my knees look a little better.

Re: Oil pulling treatment

SmallCuteWitch,

You need to do OP for at least 30 days, to see if it can help you. It sounds like you are very aware of changes in your body. Dry patches, like knees and heels, often become more soft. Keep up your posts -- we all will learn from them.

John,

For some, OP doesn't do anything. It sure didn't hurt you, and probably helped, as OP removes toxins from the oral cavity (mouth), that would otherwise enter the bloodstream. Toxins in the bloodstream are linked to heart disease and diabetes, among other diseases. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Misery,

For some but not most, there can be outbreaks shortly after starting oil pulling. It really is a good sign that OP has stirred up junk and your body is tryin got get rid of it through your skin. I had two boils the first month I started OP, but I also saw the reduction of my KP by about 90% during the same period. I hope you try OP. Let us know if you do and what you think of it.

kebod

Re: Oil pulling treatment

Now I'm not sure whether to start it now or just wait after our acquaintance party.
Kinda afraid of the outbreak

Day 8

Oil pulled with one tablespoon of walnut oil for twenty minutes. Again, my KP and dry patches are as bad as usual.
