Hi Freakzilla
All Coconut or EVCO I've ever seen is solid in the normal climate (in Scotland that is). Only in very warm weather is it soft or liquid. I often use coconut oil to make my own face cream and have to sit the bottle in warm water just to get the stuff out. So I too wanted to ask Kebod who uses EVCO for pulling whether she has to slightly warm the oil to pull or whether it is hot in her local climate. Will slightly heating the oil in a glass sitting in warm water damage some of the goodness in the oil? PS tomorrow will post an easy reciepe for making your own cream in case anyone is interested ![]() |

Hi Kramer
Good question, and I don't have the answer -- sorry. I don't have a medical background and can't say how a baby could be born with it when the mother does not have KP. I can empathize with your having a daughter with it, as I passed it on to my son.
I have wondered if part of the explanation for the cure is because perhaps oil pulling allows oil to enter our system in a different way than topically applied oil would be able to. In other words, we are being lubricated from the inside out. I know when I pull with coconut oil, the softness and feel of moisturizing on my skin is very noticeable, similar to the feel of my skin when I have just applied body lotion. I have not used sunflower or sesame oil, so I can't say if there is a similar skin feel or not with those two. Can any of you who are using sunflower or sesame tell us if the same holds true? Many doing OP report a healing of dry and cracked heels and other skin disorders sometimes associated with dryness, so perhaps there is something to this moisturizing effect. By the way, the information on the internet says that even children in India do OP. Hope this helps. kebod |

Dont' know either
I really wish we did know. And we also don't know if this is a "cure", as the people that have experienced the relief are but two, going on three, and hopefully more.
My husband gave this to my son. My husband has been pulling with Sunflower oil for months, and has recently changed to Sesame Oil. My son has just started with Sunflower, and his is definitely getting better (he's 15, and has had this since infancy). The thing about oil pulling is that even if this doesn't become a "cure" for KP, it is still good for you. It's definitely worth the shot. If you come up with any theories, by all means share!! Hello there, I'm new as you can all see. I've had KP for as long as I can remember and I never really tried to fix it because when I was a kid my dermatologist told me that there was no cure for it, so I just totally gave up. I only heard the name of it once and forgot it until yesterday when I decided to do some research hoping to find something new that could help me :P That's when I found this forum and started reading this post. I'm very excited, I want to try pulling with coconut oil but I'm kinda confused... The coconut oil has to be organic, refined, extra virgin and cold pressed, right?? or just organic, refined and cold pressed?
Thanks ![]() |

How to Oil Pull
To Sibel and Tammacita,
It is simple: first thing in the morning, before you have anything to eat or drink, put one tablespoon of refined, cold-pressed or expeller pressed oil in your mouth. Sunflower or untoasted sesame are recommended. Gently swish the oil through your mouth and under your tongue for 20 minutes. Then spit it down the toilet or in the sink (if you use your sink, clean it well afterward because there will be a residue of toxins). When you spit it out, it will look milky colored and be much thinnner. This is normal. After you spit, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth out with warm salt water. That's it. Now you can eat and drink -- I ususally drink 1-2 glasses of water. Sunflower is supposed to be very mild in flavor so may be an easy one to start with. Here is a link to read more about how to do it: http://curezone.com/forums/description.asp?f=738 And here is a site with more information. Read the part called "Method". http://www.oilpulling.com/ Congratulations on joining our experiment to see if oil pulling can help KP. Please keep us posted on your progress. Tammacita, did this answer your questions? kebod |

More on how to do oil pulling
Don't swallow. Just move the oil around in your mouth, sort of like a mouth rinse. After 20 minutes, spit it out. Brush your teeth. Rinse with warm salt water.
Please send more questions if you don't understand. I live in Mexico and know what it's like to speak a second language. kebod |

to Tammacita re: oil type for oil pulling
Hi again,
I just realized you were specifically asking about coconut oil, and I really didn't answer your question. I use coconut oil with the brand name of "Omega Nutrition". On the front label it says it is 100% organic. On the back it says it is expeller pressed. You can probably find something similar at any natural food store. Molly's husband achieved his healing of KP using sesame oil, so I don't think this has to be done only with coconut oil. I hope this group starting oil pulling, some using different oils, will be able to eventually report how different oils are helping. I hope this helps. Please keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing. kebod |
