Denorex Shampoo?

I have KP on my face alittle. Not too bad, but alot of bumps under the skin... Anyways, I use Denorex shampoo for my dry scalp/Kp. It has 3%SA in it. Last week I put some on my face (all over it). Let it sit for a few minutes. I did this for a few days. It felt good, but kind of made my face a little red. Anyways, I'm also using AHA (a strong %). This makes my face burn and also red, and sometimes greasy looking. Anyways, has anyone tried Coal Tar? It's for dry skin/eczema, and would probably help with KP.. I'm thinking of trying it. It comes in the denorex shampoo. I wanna try it on my face to, but I'm alittle worried. So, has anyone else tried any of these? Also, why does the AHA burn, and should I stick with it? Will it hurt or help my skin?

I bought a bar of tar soap awhile ago, but I never tried it.

Has anyone else tried this?

Heya,

AHA's are meant for wrinkles. specifically, dermatologists use AHA in chemical peels to get rid of scarring and "renew" skin. They work by causing your skin to absorb moisture from the air (making it greasy??) and also exfoliate your skin. If you are using a high concentration and it burns, then effectivley...you are giving yourself a chemical peel AHA's speed up your skins exfoliation, i dont think they will work to get rid of KP cause they only speeds up whats already happening, they dont change anything

I am trying H&S with selenium

Hi all,

I've been reading the forum for a while now and am amazed at the number of remedies people are trying.

I have rubra faceii and also kp on my arms. My sister, who inherited a milder form of the same, recently went to the doctor for splotches that were breaking out on her face. The doctor suggested washing her face with Head & Shoulder selenium sulfide (dark blue bottle, orange-tan colored shampoo) to cut down the redness.

Curious about the advice, I have been trying this for just under a week and can honestly say that my rubra faceii diminishes about 20-40% after washing with H&S. Parts of my cheeks that were dark red have lightened considerably and the sections that were pink are virtually gone.

So, I wanted to throw this out to others and see if you will get similar results. Yes, it sounds crazy to wash your face with shampoo but this is a crazy world!

Cheers,
Kevin
