Turquise, I have KP on my face around my T-Area. My derm gave me some AHA 10%. I start to use it then I stop, b/c it will burn and sting sometimes. Can I apply lotion to, or should I not? The thing is, my face gets so dry that there tons of keratonic plugs sticking out of my pores all over my T-Area... It's crazy... It's hurts to shave cause it stings like hell..... Should I apply lotion (Cetaphil) after the AHA dries up? Also, my skin is very sensitive.... I started oil pulling the other day... I'm going to continue doing that. Any advice would help.... Thank you very much.....

I've tried those things that you have tried also, with no results. I went directly to the 20% AHA with no problems so far. I just started on my second 4 oz bottle, and will be ordering more, in a larger size if they have it. It's the best thing that I've tried thus far. I'm very excited about this product. I'm going to tell my daughters about it, because I know they also have some KP

I've been using the 15% lotion for about two weeks now and I have had really no results. I know it takes time but nothing so far. It helps smooth out my skin but as soon as I shower again my skin feels bumpy again. I'll continue using it with the hopes of my redness fading. Should I go up to to the 20%?

I started with the 20% right away and have had no irritation whatsoever. For the first few days I applied it once a day and only on 2 small areas. After I was sure I wasn't getting any negative side effects, I stepped up to twice a day on all affected areas. It's only been about a week and a half so far, and my skin feels smoother with no other changes. Turqoise had mentioned that it took her about 2 months before having any clearing effects, so I'm hoping that I'll start to clear by the holidays.

By the way, I think Turqoise really followed through when she said she was signing off for good, so she's probably not around to answer any more questions.

I've been oil pulling with sesame oil for 2 weeks now, and I haven't had the results you've had.... I'm also using the AHA lotion b/c I only have KP on my face.. It's very dry...

When and how exactly do you Oil Pull???? Just once a day? How many teaspoons?

Thanks, FREAKZILLA

I just take a tablespoon of sesame oil everytime i get up and swish it in my mouth in two different places...i swish a lot in the front to get my teeth to be whiter (one of the great things about it) and also i swish by the bottom molars because thats where everyone's saliva holes are and that is really where the oil needs to be touching.. I do this once a day for sure and if i dont eat anything after lunch, I do it when i get home because i have lunchtime 4th period so 4 hours have passed between meals which means i can do it again, are u sure that you are doing it on an empty stomach?

I'm using an AHA lotion too. It's been about 6 weeks on and off though, b/c sometimes my skin gets irritated... .. It's 10%, which is good for now.. Maybe in another months or so I'll step it up to a higher %, but not yet... Thanks for the info on this and the oil pulling techniques.... I'll concentrate more on the back molars....

I'm glad DCL 20 has worked for you. I've tried it. Haven't noticed much difference. For the past few months, my kp was in a calm phase. No itchiness, bumps more discreet and I kept up my use of DCL. It didn't hurt nor help. However, for the past three weeks or so, my kp has been flaring up a lot on my stomach area (extreme itchiness, bigger bumps) and I have intensified my DCL use, alternating with cocoa butter or shea butter because it makes my skin feel really raw and it stings like crazy when I apply it. So far, nothing. It's irritating my skin A LOT but I don't see any noticeable results. Did a 50% glycolic peel three days ago in the hopes it might speed things up. Now I have some crusty patches too. I think it was overkill... And it still itches like hell!

to turquise

hey turquise,
I started the AHA lotion on my face again... I've used it before and stopped several times b/c of the effects you posted (red, raw, burning, and my skins looks terrible). Anyways, it's been 2 days now and the bad effects ae back... I'm gonna wait though... A few questions I have are: should I wash my face with soap (I usually use Cetaphil)? I think it may be to harsh with the AHA lotion.. If not, just use warm water.... I wash my face only in the morning and at night, wait for my face to dry, then apply the AHA on the dry patches which is my whole T-Area.. It's very bumpy and red.... How much should I apply to my face... A pea size for the whole T-Area? The lotion seems to dry up very quickly.... Also, the bumps are under my eye lids, so I've been applying some there to and under my eye brows, b/c it's dry and bumps are there too... It's crazy... Under my left eye is puffy b/c of the bumps under my skin.... It's weird.. So, should I continue t do that or not? I'm willing to take your advice, so whatever you have to say, I'm al EARS.... Thankyou.......

why use that cream if you can do the oil pulling for cheaper and safer- you see results a lot faster - and you get many other benefits from the pulling.

Just watch out!
