solved worst case of KP naturally
sorry for my ignorance on posting, this is my first time. I sent a reply to " I'm spreading" I am #17. please read.
I am 39 years old and have suffered for at least 20+ years. Really bad case all over my body, except my face. I have cleared my bumps all over my body naturally, without creams or scrubbing. I have seen derm. since I was 18, and have practically cried when done as they just prescribe creams or topical solutions that do nothing for me. I haven't worn shorts or short sleeved shirts in 20 years, as my skin was REALLY bad and my bumps seemed to get worse every year instead of better. I hid my body in creative ways, and wore make-up, and tried everything so I could have a somewhat normal life, and then I got fed up and tried another solution. I swear it worked for me, and it is natural and your involves no lotions or creams, however, I do recommend that you do exfoliate while doing this as your skin will be smooth and gleaming when your done. Good luck...... |

I've been using DCL AHA Revitalizing Lotion 20 4 oz. since Dec. 26th once a day (skipped a few days) based on this forum (I skip the morning application, as I assume it'll be no use if my work pants are going to absorb away the lotion). It's been about 2.5 months. The only difference from using the lotion, I think, but am not sure, is smoother skin. The red spots, which are what I want to get rid of, are still very visible...no difference from when before I used the lotion. I started with AHA 20 and experienced no itching or burns whatsoever, not even on my "non-KP" skin. Any other suggested products?

Turquois suggested twice a day, and you may have to go to that. I've been using 20% once a day like you for a while now and my dots are about 50% lighter but not gone, so I'm thinking of going twice a day myself. Lot of work, but like she said, it takes patience...
I'm also doing oil pulling - you might check out kebod's thread "cured at last" for more info. |

Hi,kinakeratosis
<<Are Your Bumps gone Completely As A result of The AHA? What Type or Name Of AHA Do You use? Do You Have Ant Photos?>> I still have a few bumps on my most critical areas but I'd say 80% of my bumps are gone. This is the result of using the aha lotion only,I didn't do any manual exfoliation before the treatmen but now I wish I did becuse I'm sure it would speed up the process.I was using Neostrata aha 15 (twice a day) and after one month I switched to DCL aha 20.I only have before photos and I've decided not to post any until I'm not done with the treatment. My skin is still red (I have very pale skin and that's why those red dots are even more visible) so it would be difficult to see the actual changes, you'd have to touch the skin and feel the difference.I still have a lot of work to do but since you don't have any redness you have a big advantage <<I've been using DCL AHA Revitalizing Lotion 20 4 oz. since Dec. 26th once a day (skipped a few days) based on this forum (I skip the morning application, as I assume it'll be no use if my work pants are going to absorb away the lotion). Any other suggested products?>> kpinfoseeker, what do you mean you're not sure your skin is smoother, can't you feel the difference when you touch it? The red spots (I hate those bastards) are supposed to get away in the last phase of treatment so it's normal that they're still there. You should really start applying the lotion twice a day;especially if you don't have a mild form of kp.Wait until it dries and then put the pants on.I suppose it's true that some lotion gets absorbed but not all that much to just not apply it because of that.I'm sure you've seen this page before but here's the link anyway http://www.*********.com/blueparadis.../KPStages.html Last edited by AYNAS; 03-14-2007 at 08:10 PM. |

so I'm now in the process of the exfoliation....b/c for as long as I've had kp I've never done it....and I find myself in awe of the smoothness! lol sorry to be redundant.
The only problem is, some of the bumps are more prominent...and I'm a picker. Can anyone give me any helpful tips to stop this horrible habit...that doesn't include "just stop"....b/c I'm having a real hard time with that. |

Picking WILL cause scarring, and the scars will show up worse when there aren't any dots to make them blend in. When you pick, you injure the skin, plus you can also introduce infection into the site and that will cause even more scarring. The wound scabs over and that causes the extra keratin from KP and the hair in that follicle to form an even bigger plug. It's an endless cycle. I've had this for 30+ years and have the scars to prove it.
Be patient! If the bumps are coming to the surface, they'll be gone shortly! In addition to the lotion, I'm using spa gloves with a sulfur+salycilic acid soap several times a week to help with the exfoliation, and I may go up to twice a day on the lotion. It's working, slowly but surely. (I also do oil pulling once a day and that helped with the bumps and dryness. Next may be trying to stay away from wheat to see if that helps.) Hang in there! Touch the nice soft smooth skin instead of the bumps and imagine what it'll be like when you're KP free! ![]() |

dermabrasion
This is my second week of dermabrasion, and I notice the skin is getting smoother. There are less bumps on my arms and they do feel a lot smoother. I don't see any noticable changes on my arms and legs. I'm hoping to see more improvements soon, and that my arms will get better. The days are getting warmer, and I really hope to start wearing tees and short-sleeve shirts.

Hi,
three months of the aha treatment are behind me and I'm very satisfied with my results!!!Everything is going just like Turquoise described,I think I'm in the stage 4,the red dots are getting smaller and less visible.Another month or two and my skin will look normal again.I knew that someday I'll be able to show my legs again (it's been 13 years) but I didn't expect it to be this summer. I was planning to post pictures at the end of the treatment but then I changed my mind,so here they are.I hope this helps proving that the AHA lotions are really working. The pictures are huge,so don't get scared. http://clearblogs.com/albums/zvajza/ |

I had an area where it just popped up over night and I rubbed some AHA on it for about a week and it went away and hasn't come back. I think it's because I started as soon as it began to form. I'm sticking with AHA for the rest of the year. |

Aynas,
WOW, that's awesome! Good for you ! Thanks for sharing. I definitely would have recommended dermabrasion from the beginning (in that case, you would be done by now), but it does look like you'll get complete results with this method. That's wonderful. You have such nice skin! It seems to be responding very well - I can see where the light is hitting it on the top that it's very smooth. Looks like your bumps are totally gone and the retexturing has started. All I see remaining is some dead cell debris still down in your follicles, which is causing those pink dots to hang out in some areas. I would expect those to clear up in another month or two. If they don't, you could think about investing in some Glycolic 30% and ramp up your exfoliating - that would probably knock them out. But you are close to done, for sure. You've really done great, especially sticking with it for so long. For others considering this treatment, I strongly recommend dermabrasion first. It can bring you to this smooth stage in less than *half the time* she has invested already. And remember, AHA alone does not work for everyone, because it can't always get through those bumps. You can eliminate that uncertainty with dermabrasion, and give yourself a much better chance for success. Best of all, you shouldn't have to wait this long for results. Way to go, Aynas. And thanks a million for providing pics !! ![]() Last edited by Turquoise; 04-01-2007 at 05:14 AM. |
