Oils (reply on Mols-Mom)

I used Emu oil for a few months. I don't know exactly what is was, because I was also using a self-made 20%Urea/10%SalicylicAcid-mix at the same time, but my arms have never been like this after developing KP at the age of 17. Other thing was also that I was really relaxing abroad for months during that period. Dots were almost gone plus also almost no redness. Only KP on my arms was less visible, not on other parts of my body.

My regiment at that time was:
- every day one time Emu oil
- every day one time self-made 20%Urea/10%SalicylicAcid-mix
- every day showering with 10%Sulphur/3%SalicylicAcid-soap (putting it on, leave it on for 2 minutes, scrubbing with tough glove out of natural fibres)
- almost no stress

I haven't tried emu oil, but have heard good things about it with soapmaking (which I do).
I've ordered more coconut oil , very pleased with how well this has been working.
Have you tried using the emu oil alone and seeing if the results are good just by using that?
Best wishes,
Molsmom

No, this because of two reasons:

- the 10%Sulphur/3%SalicylicAcid-soap is working really well for me, and I don't want to stop using it (this will stay in my regiment till there's something which is doing a better job even without using the soap);
- I hate natural oil in this way: if you put it on your body and after you start sweating (because it's hot, you're working out, or start dancing for example) than the oil comes out of your skin and goes into the cloths and I can tell you it's really bad stuff for the clothes (I allready ruined some t-shirts and it took me several times washing the clothes to save my favorite shirts).

So this means I think I will never start using natural oil again. For me it's no worth taking the risk to ruin my clothes. Did you never have this problem when your daugther is using the oil?

Hi,
No, we haven't had that problem, but she puts her oil on at night right before bedtime, just once a day. She doesn't put very much on, just enough to soak in her skin on her arms and legs.
