Eucerin Plus

I'm in my late 30's and have had KP for as long as I can remember. Rarely, if ever would I wear short sleeves. Sleeveless? Forget it. I had tried scrubs, lotions, proactiv, KP Duty, etc. and nothing worked.

After, researching online, I kept coming across Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Body Cream as something that could possibly help. At the time I was using this $40 jar of an aloe based moisturizer I bought at a kiosk in Vegas. Didn't really do anything. At the time, I was also tanning, so any improvements I may have had was more likely from the tanning then the aloe. I decided the aloe was useless. I went ahead and bought some Eucerin. I'm glad I did.

Eucerin has actually helped clear the KP. I still have the dot marks but they are no longer intensely red. Inflammation has gone down. I actually call them brown dots now. I'm Filipino so I have a bit of a natural tan. My skin is definitely smoother. Rarely , if any bumps at all. I will actually wear sleeveless tops now and I haven't tanned for a while.

I was a bit skeptical about using Eucerin because of the lactic acid. I believe that is one of the "helpful" ingredients. I used a lotion w/ that ingredient before and it seemed to worsen the condition. KP Duty, is that what it's called? That was absolutely horrible. It really made my arms red and itchy!

Eucerin costs about $7 so I thought I had nothing to lose. I am now on my 3rd tube in about 2 months. When I shower, I use a body puff and use Walgreen's version of Cetaphil cleanser on my upper arms. I believe the Walgreen's cleanser actually helped more because I started using it at a later time than Eucerin. After I get out of the shower, I leave my upper arms damp and apply Eucerin. I apply it again in the morning and whenever else I feel like it.

If you've tried everything but this, I would tell you to give it a try. It definitely works.

Really? Well, I tried Eucerin a couple of times, but it didn't affect my KP at all, because I have the kind of KP that looks like dark blackheads on my thighs.

And yes, lactic acid is a GREAT cleanser, which is why people often use yogurt-based facial masks.

I've also found U-Cort to be very effective; it has some anti-keratin ingredient similar to Salicylic acid that helps KP

I use Eucerin lotion and it has improved my skin. In fact I now use an Australian heel balm called Flexitol which has 25% Urea and it has really improved the KP it is a combination of softening the skin then exfoiliating it which helps to loosen the bumps so to speak you know its working cos you become hairer. I have the brown/black type looking dots but they are going gradually it takes time, its not an overnight thing its been quite a few months but thats nothing compared to the YEARS of bad skin. Some people take longer than others depending on the toughness of the skin, but persevere.
