Does this sound right? Please help
Ok, I am a 16 year old male with Kp since 6mths old when I had some type of reaction to some cream. Now, in high school, I went the dermatologist and they said it was Kp without any skin swabbing, etc. I was first prescribed Salex and Tazorac lotion which peeled my skin like crazy. The 2nd time I went there, I got some Triaz pads and Keralac lotion. I was wondering if this is what people with KP should put on? I sued to put on the Salex in the morning and both at night like I was supposed to, but then I got tired of doing it and stopped it. My skin because much better for a little while. But noe, it has become pretty bad. It seems as if the "scaley looking skin" on my lower legs and upper arms has been "boiling" out the the top of my skin to where I can feel the bumps. Now, after a few weeks more, the bumps still appear on the surface and are itchy, but the skin is more smoother now. (I used to use Old Spice body wash, but my skin itched like crazy, so my mom got my some Olay body was with lotionw/ aloe extract and that has soothened my skin. I also started to shave and my skin on my face (I have the redness disease also) has become slightly less red. Shoud I continue the doctos new treatment (which has been prescribed over a month ago and which I never started) or should I se extra virgin coconut oil (from here) and other remedies here? I DON'T really trust this doctor because I wasn't told the Salex was going to peel my skin and it did like crazy and I was really scared. I later googled it and found out that Salex is a skin peeling lotion.
Thanks for your help!
