When Did It Appear For You?

I had completely perfect skin up until grade 5. My KP started during 6th or 7th grade. I know some people do not get it until later in their life. My mom and I are from Vietnam, she got it around the time which she came to Canada and had my sister. I've heard of pregnancy and how it relates with KP.

She never got it until she was in her 30s and I never got it until I was atleast 10. So I wonder, is KP something that is always in your system, even though it might show up at different stages of life?

KP is genetic, so the answer is yes: the potential is always there. Different things will trigger it, but it will likely only show up if you have a genetic predisposition to develop it. There are many, many people with that predisposition—especially among those with allergies or eczema in the family, etc. Not everyone who could develop KP will: as I say, often there must be a trigger in the environment, diet, etc. But sometimes there is no trigger: it's just there because it's a part of you.
