Hi everyone,
Here is what has worked for me in terms of smoothing the skin. NeoStrata ( 10 % Glycolic acid) and Uremol ( Urea 10%) . I think the NeoStrata by itself is effective but I read that people with KP have less urea in their skin so I added that and have seen good results. My problem is the underlying hyperpigmentation and the top little dot scars. I have light brown skin and my skin is not red unless I exfoliate it hard. The hyperpigmentation is only on my arms and the rest of my body has only the scars from KP. I don't want to try something with hydroquinone or other harmful products. Has anyone tried skin lightening products that are safe and effective with results? If so, can you please share because I don't want to go trying every product out there as I did with smoothing the KP! Thanks! |

Hi Lidya
I have the same problem and would you believe that the sun actually help tone out my skin and therefore the brown marks sort of blended in and faded if you know what I mean.I know a lot of people dont like to show their arms etc but if you can get some rays in privacy do so. I have recently bought a heel balm that has 25% Urea and wow it does half soften the skin. (its meant for dry and crusty heel bottoms really but who cares it works) Lots of products do not use hydroquinone now as it is frowned upon in the beauty industry. Most good skin lightening creams now use AHA acids to peel away the pigmentations. I dont know where you live but the product "Fade out" does not have HQ anymore. Still allow at least 4-6 weeks to see results though its not a quick process. Hope this helps V |

Hey V ( Hope I can call you that)
I thank you for replying but I did a quick research and found out that Fade Out is banned for containing hydroquinone! You can check it yourself at http://www.kebs.org/banned%20cosmetics.htm...just scroll down to the products name! And I went to their website at http://fadeout.com/homepage.htm and they make no mention of hydroquinone or the lack of it in their product. Have you used their product, if so are you sure that there is no hydroquinone? Sorry to be skeptical but I want to make sure I am not harming myself in anyway! Thanks V L |

I used KP Duty. I had red spots and brown spots for more than 20 years and they've now vanished. I've always been able to make my skin smooth, but KP Duty is the first product that got rid of the unsightly color. And I have literally tried everything over the years. As for the sun, it always made my KP worse. But that's the thing: what works for one person won't work for the next. I know, for example, that KP Duty doesn't help everyone. For me it was the miracle cure. You really do have to experiment and find what works best for you. |

Hey V,
You are right....my apologies! I did further research and found out that after 2001 they no longer use HQ on fade out, so I will give it a try! I would love to hear what other things you would recommend....I am in Canada! Thanks V again! L |
