Hey
Hey everyone. I'm a new member.
I'm 16 years old and had KP since I was around 13 (might be earlier and I just didn't notice... or care). My sister had it I remember but she's 20 now and I think hers faded away (haven't asked )I really started noticing my KP and became conerned with it this year. I thought it was acne and treated it with ance cleansers. It really didn't help. About a week ago I googled "arm acne" and found a forum and someone asked about treating arm ance. Someone replied that it was a condition called KP. Then I googled KP and found this forum. I told my dad about the coconut oil and he bought me some today at a health food store. It's not extra virgin though (didnt realize it had to be it). It really smoothed my skin already. 6 bucks for a 14 ounce jar. My KP is more noticable in my arms. There is some on my shoulders and chest that aren't really anything to fuss about. Also, on my face I have mildly red checks. Sometimes if you look far away it's not noticable and other times its mild. Don't assume its just that I'm just hot (as in temperature) because I know the difference. The redness can show up indoors, air conditioned. How do you all recommend treating that? Currently I'm using proactiv but then it's only treating the mild ance I get once and awhile and I now realize that it's not ment to treat the redness. It faded the redness a bit but not really much (well because it's not ment to use for that). The redness isn't severe (I've seen worst), but I still dont like it. ![]() Should I use the coconut oil, or will that make my face really oily and shiney? Any tips appreciated. At the very least though I hope the coconut oil on my arms will work. Thanks for reading. ![]() |

Welcome! It sounds like you have KPRF on your face. There's another forum on the homepage for that condition. I don't have it personally (I have cystic acne, yuck), so I don't know what works best. You might be able to find some tips by reading through those threads, thought. Good luck! And let us know how the coconut oil works for your KP!

Hey!
I wouldn't recommend putting the oil on your face if you are prone to break-outs. And I would watch with the Proactive, too. It can make some people's face extremely sensitive. I know when I used it a few years ago, it nearly ate mine off ! Even my own tears burnt. |
